they do that for all algorithmically generated music videos they post. apparently the label and the artist are not making those, but youtube will make it and add it to the artist or label's channel with meta data and no comments so there is no need for moderation.

i guess artists are ok with it since they still get paid, but it does step on their toes if they are taking their time to shoot a video and yt puts the song with a still picture up first. now that video has to split views with the expensive video the artist shot.

looks like they have to do this to compete with music streaming services. if people are using google to find the song, but then they click on the spotify or pandora link, they feel like they are losing revenue. they want to make sure they have all the same music as a music service so you have no reason to leave the google ecosystem
