fukk that.

Phil lost another series he should have won, in 2004 against Detroit, who were coached by....... Larry Brown.

Um no the pistons were the better team. The lakers outside of shaq and Kobe were all time bad. Gary Payton was having one of the worst playoffs ever for a starting point guard, Malone was done and injured etc. Everyone else was borderline D league

And even then, that would be 2 series in 20 plus years of coaching

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Larry Brown needed a specific type of team, when he didn't have "His guys" he struggled, see the Knicks. Give me Phil Jackson any day of the week, Larry and his love for vets probably would have started Brian Shaw over Kobe until he was 23.

Plus, I will never forgive him for the 04 Olympics, kept Wade, Bron, and Amare glued to the bench and hung Duncan out to dry.

:comeon:

Kobe was getting swept and throwing up air balls when he was 18...

Shaq started winning rings when Kobe turned into one of the best players in the league.

MJ was not just a great scorer. Dude won DPOY 3 years before Phil even coached him. :comeon: He just had no help.

Well... How come Del Harris coldn't win with Kobe and Shaq?

I agree about everything you said, except that part of Malone. He was our best Pick And Roll defender, and best big man defender on the squad. He was able to stop both Duncan and KG in the playoffs that year in 04. He wasn't scoring much, but defensively he was great on that team. He held Duncan to something like 20 ppg on 40% shooting and KG on 23 ppg on about 45% in the playoffs that year. I think the Lakers would have won with the Mailman, but the Pistons were just gelling and were on a roll, and everyone had beef on the Lakers squad, but the series would have been much closer had Mailman not gotten injured.

Larry couldn't even get us a gold medal with LeBron, Wade, Duncan, Melo and Amare. Why? Because he refused to play the younger guys, even though they were superior in every way.

He was not a good manager of talented players, not even remotely decent at it.

This is revisionist history at its best.

NOBODY favored Detroit in that series. Nobody.

The Pistons didn't become "the better team" until they won.

As far as the topic of Phil vs. Larry Brown, I'd take Larry if my players were decent or trash, and I'd take Phil if I had some superstars on my squad. Also, Phil was a master of communication and usually had good relationships with his players. Larry Brown would grate on everybody and had mood swings like a mufukka. He's probably bipolar.

Exactly! I would even argue that team was more talented than the Phil Jackson teams. Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel, Elden campbell, Byron Scott...

Larry Brown singlehandedly sabotaged the 2004 Olympic Team.

Phil Jackson had a 60 win Sun's team in the fight of their lives against that terrible Lakers team featuring Smush Parker, Luke Walton and Kwame Brown.
