He’s never had a clue what he’s doing either. He spent years defending Cam Cameron but the players had to convince him not to fire Rex Ryan when he first got here. Harbaugh has been skating by on a razor thin margin for 11 years now as his teams keep beating themselves with self inflicted mental mistakes. If Rahim Moore doesn’t go Nelson Cruz in game 6 of the World Series or if the niners got just 5 more yards in the Super Bowl, he’s fired years ago if not that season for blowing a 28-6 lead in the Super Bowl in part because he called a fake field goal on 4th and 10 that didn’t work in easy field goal range. Aside from 2012 here’s how his seasons have ended since 2010:It’s always something flucky happening to the ravens, harbaugh seat should be hot, especially considering the only reason he there is because Lamar saved his job
Ravens draft too well to be choking in big moments consistently, it’s not exactly on some cowboys shyt but it’s almost close
2010: after coaching mistakes in losses vs Pittsburgh & New England cost them the 1 seed and the north, his team blows a 21-7 halftime lead vs Pittsburgh in the divisional round, getting outscored 24-3 in the second half. His team commits 3 self inflicted turnovers and TJ drops the 4th down pass beyond the marker with the game on the line down 7.
2011: on the final drive of the year Lee Evans drops a pass in the end zone down 3 with 45 seconds left on 2nd down. On 3rd down Flacco gets chased out of the pocket and doesn’t run for the first down when he has a lane. Throws to a covered man instead. On 4th down Harbaugh rushes the kicking unit out to avoid a delay of game instead of using his final timeout. Then his kicker misses a 32 yarder to tie the game.
2013: blown out in back to back games to end the year and miss the playoffs. Had the worst run blocking line since the merger and still spent all year trying to run out of the pistol which left the backs deeper in the backfield on the snap.
2014: The defense (which has the worst secondary in the league) leads the league in blown coverages, missed tackles, & blown 4th quarter leads, including twice vs Cincinnati which costs them the north because they put their nickel corner on AJ Green in the clutch in both games. They gave away a pair of 14 point second half leads in the divisional round vs New England in part because New England threw on every play of the second half and they never adjusted. Never sent corner Rashaan Melvin any help over the top and New England finished 14-19 for 225 yards and a touchdown when throwing at him.
2015: They were ass all year. Finished 5-11 but blamed the lost year on Flacco, Suggs, and Steve Smith getting hurt but the year was lost before Joe or Steve got hurt.
2016: Looked mediocre all year. Lost back to back games vs Oakland and Washington because Harbaugh took a penalty to push them out of field goal range on a play where the ravens got a 3rd down stop only for both teams to convert said third and long and score a touchdown & went on to win both games vs said teams. Defense gave up the game winning drive in week 16 on Christmas in the final seconds in Pittsburgh to lose the north and miss the playoffs.
2017: Mediocre to bad all year. Get it together late but in week 17 at home against a bengals team out of the playoffs they give up a 50 yard touchdown on 4th and 10 to lose the game in the final minutes and miss the playoffs. Their DC (Dean Pees, a Belichick guy who called a run blitz vs Eli Manning with Super Bowl 42 on the line which left Plaxico Burress open for the game winner) is allowed to retire instead of being fired after his defense blew the game on its final drive in 24 different games in his 6 years on the job.
2018: Off to a bad start and they finally pull the plug on Flacco & turn to Lamar. The defense makes a final stand at the end of game 16 to win the north but they go into the playoff game vs the chargers with a plan basically to not throw the ball at all until they’re down 20 in the 4th (Lamar had I think 9 passes at that point)
2019: after clinching the 1 seed for the first time they get their asses kicked by the 9-7 titans at home in the divisional round. The top ranked running team gives its backs 9 carries while the team called 60+ passing plays. Midway through the 3rd Lamar already had 40+ pass attempts even before the game was out of reach
2020: I was working so I missed the loss to Buffalo but fumbling at the goal line to essentially cost themselves the game is a mental mistake you can’t have your guys make.
2021: Lamar gets hurt, misses the final month of the year and they lose 5 in a row to miss the playoffs.
2022: Lamar gets hurt and misses the final month of the year and they abandon the run in the playoff loss to the bengals
Not a single loss there to end the year where there’s little blame to be placed and they can at least walk away with their heads held high. All of them filled with mental mistakes and bad play calling/gameplanning. That’s the sign of a bad coach. I’ve been calling for his job since the Monday night game vs Houston in late November or early December of 2010. The context of this game is as follows:
The week before they lost the division lead when they lost vs Pittsburgh because Harbaugh and Cam Cameron never adjusted to the Steelers repeatedly blitzing Troy Polamalu off the left tackle on third and short with nobody there to pick him up. The third or fourth time he did it was the famous strip sack on Flacco we’ve all seen that set up the game winning touchdown after the Steelers returned the fumble down to the Ravens 5 yard line. Baltimore lost the north on a tiebreaker. That week fans were tearing cam to shreds on the radio and Harbaugh called in to tell the fans something along the lines of “go root for the other team if you’re not happy”. The next week on Monday night vs Houston they blew a 14 point 4th quarter lead in large part because the offense couldn’t stay on the field at the end of the game to run out the clock. This happened because Houston sent the same blitz that Pittsburgh used with Bernard Pollard blitzing off the left tackle on 3rd down and kept getting stops. I’ve wanted him gone ever since. Even @STAN JONES hasn't been calling for him to be fired as long as I have
