For the same reasons the Lakers don't.

GM's want expiring contracts so they can get rid of the long term contracts they already have on their books. The Bulls GM would love to trade Boozer for him. The Knicks GM would love to trade Amare for him. But just about any other GM would have to be an idiot to get involved.

For the Minny and Toronto deals, there is no long term savings offered by these moves.
