Kobe was selfish for doing that if you ask me. There is no doubt he was thinking about being the only 2nd player with :mjpls: to make 30 mil in one season. If he was smart, he should have taken a paycut going into the final years of his career to add another player and go for 7 titles then retire.

No, he actually wasn't. He was 'underpaid' for YEARS, that's the reason why he got the contract he has now. That's common knowledge, or should be. After the '99 season he signed a $70 million, 6 year contract. He was making a little over $10 million a year.

When he signed the $136 million extension, the CBA was different, there was no selfishness in his act. This new CBA has just changed the game up.

People always want to bring up Kobe's contract like him taking $5 or $10 less million will help us land a superstar. It won't. The issue is Kobe-Bynum-Pau-Ron combining for over 70% of our cap space. Criticize Pau's contract, he actually brings in less money to LA and contributes less when it matters than KB24.

Man I was SO optimistic as soon as we lost to OKC.

We isolated the issues, we all saw the trade possibilites, the moves, everything.

Now, we're starting the season with the exact same team that barely got out of the first round, and barely stole that one game from OKC with the Thunders stupid late game fouls.

Now Lamar signs with the Clips, Jordan Hill looks like hes gone, and we're looking to resign Sessions, who did 0 damage in the playoffs?

It's gonna take a miracle to fix this team, its over :beli:

I hate to break this to you but Kobe, Gasol, & Bynum alone make up the entire salary cap before you add any other players. That is why you're so limited in what you can do. It's also one of the reason we have this new CBA. That shyt won't get better either because Kobe, MWP, & Gasol make a little more next year, plus they have to sign Bynum to an extension & hope they can bring back Sessions & Hill.

Lakers are pretty limited in what they can do until Kobe & Gasol come off the books but even then they'll have Bynums deal.:whoo:

That's what I said though, they comprise pretty much all of the salary cap.

And when Kobe & Gasol come off the books, who knows if Bynum will even be on the books, they haven't signed him to an extension, just used the team option.

All I'm saying is in a couple of years, if they don't add on any ridiculous salaries, they could be sitting pretty. :smugdraper:

Our only problem is the window for Kobe to win is pretty small, so when those come off the books, he'll be on his 'farewell tour' contract. :wow:

Kobe making 28 mil next year. According to the people on here if he made 14 mil like LBJ we could sign a superstar. :laff:

That's simply not the case brehs, we can't sign nobody regardless of how much Kobe is pulling in or how much the team offers... its not like BK is offering the Magic any more or offering Dwill any more than we can... remember we can dump Pau... its just external factors :manny:

It's over brehs, we will compete but not contend.

These superstar dream signings are crazy. The thing is though if Kobe made 14 million they wouldn't be over the luxury tax and could afford to pay some middle of the road free agents. As is they can't afford any kind of role players cause it cause soo much money now to be over the luxury tax.

A source close to free-agent point guard Goran Dragic said the Raptors, Suns, Nets, Hornets, Lakers and Rockets have all expressed interest.
Highly doubt we get Goran, the dude wants 10 mill a year as a starter supposdly, so he is gonna be off our list of starting PG's to get. Honestly the 2 PG's availabe for us to get is either Calderon or Jameer. :(
