why on earth were these 2 threads merged? ..

-- I'm bringing it back to the lakers offseason thread

I would love to get milsap or iggy, i dont see us getting both and as a previous poster said i'd do anything outside of kobe to get dwight with the lakers, and devin harris would be a nice upgrade of sessions too

but again like another poster said, we have to work within the confines of the cap and that isnt easy given the big contracts we have

I'm just hoping for Mitch/lakers to pull something out of their ass , otherwise we are not gonna beat OKC (and possibly not even the jazz / spurs ) next year

im not really a beasley fan either - he seems overrated and like an under achiever

it woulda been interesting, if you look where i said in another thread i had the spurs taking it all, i didnt see any way after the first few rounds the lakers were handling the spurs, and i didnt think the heat could handle their choreographed offense, but oh well we'll never know because OKC played lights out in 4 games in a row against the spurs

He was not better than The Glove :stopitslime:

payton was >>> as 1v1 defender to probably anybody

but defense is more than guarding the ball. kidd was a better rebounder (nightly triple double threat) had more career steals and was just very busy everywhere on both sides of the court aka he saw everything happening and made high quality decisions

like i said defense is more than just guarding the ball

Lakers
The Lakers are exploring all kinds of potential deals, having floated every name on the roster this side of Kobe Bryant. They are said to be open to trading Metta World Peace for a late first-rounder, with their eyes on Baylor forward Quincy Miller and Kentucky point guard Marquis Teague.

Back to the Lakers. If the Cavs are able to move up and nab Beal at No. 2, there’s talk the Lakers would be willing to make life easy for the Wizards and help them move out of the third spot. It would likely take power forward Pau Gasol. Far-fetched for now, but don’t be surprised if it’s something that’s explored in the right situation.

Wizards big man Andray Blatche could also be part of that, or another, trade.

You talk'n a whole lotta nothing. Kidd ain't touching Payton's defense.
