fukk that...I'm with CantStop with this one...if that what it takes to land Dwight, so be it...with either Dwight or a more featured Drew, Pau gets reduced to a third option stretch four...which he is not equipped to be...these last two playoffs have convinced me he's not worth 19mil a year for the role he has on the team now...with the increases in athleticism, rebounding and defense swapping Drew for Dwight brings...putting a stretch 4 like an aging Jamison or Al ain't the worst thing in the world to me, and might honestly play better with Dwight on the floor than Pau will (well maybe not better, but a more natural fit)...it's not an ideal move, but I'd live with it if it means landing the lakers next star and face of the franchise

Howard for Gasol and Bynum? Risky move. It makes other teams a lot better. Not sure it makes LA much better.

Edit: nephew Al would be a good look for LA though.....

I dont believe Mitch pulls the reported deal...its just too much...you dont give up that type of size and rebounding for Dwight Howard

Exactly.....It's more likely this was leaked in order to put pressure on Houston or Cleveland to facilitate the other deals.

Howard is not and has never been worth both Pau and Bynum. Plus with the addition of Steve Nash Pau is gonna put up beastly numbers.

Btw all those thinking we giving up too much we are talkin about Mitch Godchak dude will probably land us D12 and Iggy

Even if the Lakers got iggy it'd be too much. Nobody else that has been mentioned is as good or as versatile as Pau.

I've never liked the idea of moving Pau and Bynum for Howard....The potential of a Howard and Pau with Nash at the point is too great to even consider moving the Spaniard.

You don't trade Pau Gasol and not get comparable or better talent back.

Pau Gasol is still an elite big, nobody else being mentioned in a trade for him is NEARLY as good as Gasol.

Nah I'd definitely take Iggy for Pau. The Lakers need some athleticism. The team is too old and slow as is. I see teams spreading the Lakers out and running them like they've done the last two years. Hell you could run a lineup of Nash, Kobe, Iggy, Artest, and Howard when teams go small. Getting rid of Pau would make the team a lot more versatile.

lol, this is Odom all over again. Gasol would be the 4th option if we kept him and got Dwight. Kobe/Dwight/Nash/Gasol doin all the small weak work is better than Kobe/Dwight/Nash/Joey Harrington imo. If Pau gotta go, make a better flip for him. It's the Laker way.

the reason Gasol is even in the deal is because LA doesn't want to pay 19 million for a fourth option. LA trying to cut costs.

....and I can respect that. But damn, lets flip that p*ssy for something better than Al Harrington. Or at least we should be getting another player back in this that can fill a need. I still think we can swindle a team using Pau, but that's just me I suppose. :ld:
