I'm on episode 1 and the voice acting is trash

Let down by this. I like the historical figures and how it was loosely based on history (Nobunaga did commit seppuku after Kyoto was raided and he was surrounded. Yasuke being his retainer) but all the sorcery, mechs, and the magical white girl took me out of the story. First 3 episodes he's getting his ass kicked. I just really dislike how they take such liberties with something so important and a story a lot of people were actually excited and waiting for. Flying Lotus did his thing on the OST but man this was disappointing. Lakeith doing the voiceover aint working for me either.

He sounded horrible. Like monotone, bored, basically like he wasn't putting in any effort. I can't believe the creators thought this was the best he could do. I would have let him go. Should have got an experienced voice actor like Phil Lamarr, Khary Payton or Keith david or if they needed a known name, Snipes would have been good. Wesley would have loved lending his voice to a Black samurai.

I could barely get through Cannon Busters, the writing was all over the place in the first episode.

I guess this guy just wants to do common scenes from all the anime he has watched instead of doing his own thing.

Slap anime tropes together and paint it Black.

Smh.

I'll give the Japanese version a chance but I thought this was going to be grounded too

I really wanted to like this and support it but I tapped out by episode 2, this just wasn't a good show. too much bullshyt going on. magic, mechas, etc. should have just kept it a simple historical timepiece and the voice acting was trash too. Very disappointed, especially considering the fact that they're aren't a lot of animes featuring black people

That's what makes this whole thing very frustrating. If we had a ton of Black anime shows, this one being mediocre wouldn't be an issue, but we don't so the focus here is magnified.

I appreciate the brotha for trying tho. I really want us to succeed out here, but back to the drawing board.

Tapped out 1/2 way thru! My god this was a mess. From the intro I was like WTF! Why they couldnt make this a semi historical story. Did we need mechs and wizards? Magic CACs?!!

I am so disappointed.

A diesel African in feudal Japan is interesting enough.
