All of this. The moms story seemed wAy more interesting than the main characters but it is what it is. I enjoyed the movie thoughMovie was real good IMO. Started off slow but got better as it went along. Very Love Jones influenced which is a plus for me, soundtrack was on point. Only complaint was the back story relationship(Christina and Isaac) felt better developed then the main story relationship(Mae and Michael).

Black love movies more often than not have at least one light skin love interest, like that's the standard, and most of the time it's the female.
