I find it hard to believe there isn't any young kids popping out of QB right now. Or any young crews / movements. That place has the population of a small/mid-sized city. Just like any city it produces a lot of talent in every walk of life. You mean to tell me no one has been able to get a little bit of a buzz popping out of there in like 15 years? There's gotta be tons of young kids there. I'm guessing that maybe these old dusty "pay me for being alive" dudes have something to do with newer kids not popping out of there. This thread has been :ohhh: though. Besides the first stringers, I never really paid any attention to anything out of QB, especially the bench warmer/weed carrier super-thug stuff. I used to think Lake's verse on Revolutionary Warfare was :ehh: but after re-visiting it ... :beli:
All the new NY rappers are coming out of the Bronx, Harlem, and Brooklyn... :manny:

The Bridge is OVER...it's all about that High Bridge now :youngsabo:

Queens is pretty much dead in the new NY hip-hop scene not just Queensbridge, well they do have Nicki and that 821 Lobby song :manny:

I went to that new QB thread somebody made, and they average rappers at best, too many old nikkas trying to rap, they got some trash ass nikkas from Yemen that rap, some dude named Sheff La who raps and produces they talked about him in a QB Complex article, he's alright dude is already 30 though and he don't got the image anyway. Wack beats, average rhymes, no mixing and mastering, low quality project videos, no real artists.

Also, QB nikkas are swagless :scust:, no young nikkas, no sauce for the listener to soak up.

I just don't get it, why hasn't nikkas like jungle and nasty try to find someone out there with talent? I don't get it b.

As a New Yorker, I can tell by their stance that they're grimey/up to no good type of dudes:scust:. That's the scheming stance, especially dude with the garbage can on his head. And trusting a dude named sherm the worm is the same as trusting a dude named Rico Hines

Same thing I thought b...it's grimey written all over him. Bad vibes.

For real...

This is the Hood that Brought us the Juice Crew in the 80's which was one of the first deep all star rap cliques (they beef wit BDP crew from the Bronx is legendary) .

Then it's a million nikkas from QB that repped in the 90's, most have been mentioned in this thread.

How in 2017 is no young nikka from QB even buzzing?

Shyt don't make sense for a hood that big with that history.:dwillhuh:

New York is a city of what 8M? They literally have 3 or 4 artists buzzing themselves.. it's not a QB thing, it's New York

It's like y'all stupid mothafukkas act like there's not established acts in NY like French, A$AP, Nicki to go along with A-Boogie, Dave East, Don Q, Cardi B, Joey Badass, the veteran acts like Jay-Z, Fabolous, Fat Joe/Remy Ma who still have shown mainstream relevance, the lower level acts like Troy Ave and Casanova, artists like Young M.A. and Desiigner who put out chart toppers, groups like 2Milly coming out with the Milly Rock and GS9's whole run in '14.

Name for name nikka NY fukking with any region except the A, the game is not regional, the internet runs this shyt. You do realize outside of Kendrick, and maybe YG and ScHoolboy all West Coast artists are regional? You do realize nobody is playing G-Perico, RJ, Mozzy, Nipsey Hussle, Vince Staples on this side of the map (you being from DC know this) and if you wanna talk views and streams they aren't doing any better that NY rappers right? You don't wanna talk plaques, look at the Billboard at this moment how many NY artists are there, look at the Billboard last year how many NY artists on there? Stfu.

Get NY dikk out ya mouth...

Fat Joe, Fab, Remy, Asap, French are irrelevant.. im talking about developing acts. NY hasnt developed a superstar in years, a city with 10M people and literally have had 5 or 6 artist buzzing in 5 years. damn shame

My first guess is that
1. The style of rap that put QB on the map isn't what's poppin...mumble raps have taken over. I think there's a generation gap that comes with it. Today's youth don't seem to be into "wordy" lyrical rap anyway.

To quote someone I work with who is born and raised in QB but is under 30 years old when I mentioned Nas, mega, Trag, CNN etc ......" :comeon:those guys are old...what are they like 50 years old??? You sure love those underground rappers."

2. There's no passing of the torch, and more importantly no tutelage. There's a difference of putting someone on..and mentoring them on how to actually rap.
Nas put Bravehearts on (they sucked compared to the legends of QB)...but Tragedy taught CNN how to rap. Trag even explained that he had to "chisel" Nore's style back when the War Report came out.

The last Qb artist that I can recall with that style of rap of Nas, Mega, Trag, Prodigy, Capone, Noyd, Hav etc was Killa Sha and he died a while back. And Sha was clearly a replica and clearly influenced by Trag.

Now that I think about it...this all falls on Trag. It has to be him who has to introduce someone new. He's one of the few that's a regular in QB so he actually keeps his ear to the street and has worked with them hands on. Supposedly he helped Mobb Deep, CNN and Sha come out.

Nas doesn't do that (obviously) ...Mega doesn't...he'll put people on, but he doesn't tutor anyone...neither does Capone, Noyd, Hav and Prodigy when he was around.

Truth be told, all of those dudes are struggling to put out material themselves, so that's another problem there...mega might be the exception.

How are they irrelevant dumb ass?
-A$AP is irrelevant? They influenced the whole aesthetic of the game today. Rocky is irrelevant with his two Gold albums, his fashion endorsements, his movies, dude is a superstar. Ferg is irrelevant with a Platinum single and two Gold singles with one coming as recent as last year.
-French is irrelevant? He just dropped an album and literally has the 5th hottest record in the country at this very moment and A Lie just debuted at 75th in the country and will continue to rise.
-Fat Joe and Remy Ma are irrelevant? Nah, All The Way Up isn't a 2x Platinum single. Nah, Remy Ma didn't make noise in the culture with the ShEther diss and she's not one of the few relevant female rappers today.
-Fabolous still not dropping mixtapes, getting feature placements, and doing shows, he still not dropping songs to millions of views

Name all the other cities outside of Atlanta that are doing so much better than us since we irrelevant. Name all these artists that came out other regions that's putting us to a shame apparently superstars have been coming out of everywhere the last 5 years. I told you nikka look at the charts, you don't wanna talk plaques, charts, or go artist for artist by region. Don't act like a G-Perico out West is any hotter than Dave East. Don't act like the West has any young artist putting out hits like A-Boogie. Foh.

Prodigy tried to put people on. Like Bars-N-Hooks for example.
