Damn is that gonna happen for real? That'll pretty much confirm that Def Jam as we used to know as a hip hop label will cease...cause I cant imagine a merger like that will allow for anyone other than Rhianna, Rick Ross, Kanye, Frank to still be on the label.
when you compare the sales of contemporary hiphop artists & artists of all other genre's besides country it's doing really well. can't tell these fear mongering nikkas in their little bubbles that though. this. and his "anti promotion" schtick was just a promotion gimmick. dude did SNL and the video projections in all of those cities. Its not like he snuck the album onto itunes on a MOnday night and tweeted that shyt Tuesday morning
That techno-infused songs have died down a lot these last couple of years, and made people more focused on THEIR genre of music. This flop from Lady Gaga is just another reminder that chasing pop music money will leave you broke fast.

Even movies these days are at a rut. No more original or risktaking films anymore. Just people copying off of each other, like the music industry. I dare say that the CD format will die out in a few more years. Some new cars don't even have CD players/ Disc changers anymore.

Thing is she never really had much to offer outside of the antics. The videos, outfits, and album covers might be creative, but her music was always just regular bubblegum shyt dressed up as experimentation, so if there is no crazy shyt going on outside of the music there is also no reason for peope to give a fukk.
Not for nothing but a few years back I remember reading this article where gaga was crying broke. She said even tho she sold a lot of records and tours, the costs for her stage shows and outfits are astronomical. Think about it man, it's not like you can walk into JC Penny and get a meat purse. She walks outside dressed like a wooly mammoth and it's not like she paid a $100 for that outfit. That's a huge expense being that outrageous.
The bigger thing to me tho is this, the label didn't lose $25 million, gaga did. We all know how labels work. Gaga is in the red for $25 million and she has to make that up. Sure you can say just tour or whatever, but if she is already spending like there's no tomorrow and is now another $25 million in the red you know how this story ends.
