Upon first full listen, I'm enjoying the majority of the songs.

Singles aside, my top 5 are:

Sexxx Dreams
MANiCURE
Aura
Jewels N' Drugs
ARTPOP

ive been on record before on here saying how diverse my music taste is.....sometimes it makes you not able to sit down and listen to one person for a long time....

but anyway ive only been able to listen to the songs one by one like every couple of days...

still think "Dope" is :gag: :scusthov: but im listening to "Donatella" right now... :wow: :wow: :wow:

so far "applause" "venus" "fashion"(Black Reign is looking good and feeling fine :wrist: ) are all pleasing to me... and we know "do what u want" is killing it in the streets :wow:

she needs to make "do what u want" the second single and video no idea what she is waiting for....if the video is not too over the top visual wise and something like the "Primetime" video with Miguel and Janelle Monae...i think people will be impressed by Gaga and it will blow up

Katy Perry makes singles....my girl Stefani makes ALBUMS!!! :pacspit:

@Howie Doroughberg I still don't get this... :wtf:

Why are the critics underrating Gaga's album so much?

When she released Born This Way she got horrible criticism(which was kind of deserved cause it was not her best)

but now that she made a comeback on her 4th album(lets be serious Fame Monster counts as a studio album with all those new songs) its like they don't even talk about it....

@Black Reign

Do What U Want is the 2nd single. The video was recently shot by Terry Richardson and Gaga and Kels will be performing together at the AMA's (Nov. 24th).

On another note, I loved 'Born This Way' from the moment I listened and it's still my most played album of hers. The imagery and message were at times puzzling and the song choices were messy as hell but the music for me is what matters most.

ARTPOP has been an enjoyable listen, but it hasn't been immediate for me like BTW. I don't think 'Dope' is bad and her recent Howard Stern performance of the song was lovely. It's not one of my favorites but it's also not 'Mary Jane Holland' which I can do without.

As for critics, well we all know that Gaga is truly a polarizing figure. The joke of some of these critics is that their opinion is based on the album title as oppose to the actual music. Gaga isn't going to play it safe and that is something that also annoys people who expect popstars to do nothing but sing over a Dr. Luke beat and give them vomit-inducing sugary imagery.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
make a thread in the Booth(since nobody ever posts hear) similar to the MMLP2 leak thread

telling everyone the news of the leak

Basically be the AKADemiK of the Gaga thread....
'

You know, i haven't thoroughly listened to it enough to back it.

Will really need to give it a bevy of spins before any commendations (or criticisms) are made - hence, no thread being made.

But this will suffice, cuz let's be reality, this thread would phase out quick in The Booth.

ArtPop track itself is a nice eurodance number. Fashion has a late 80's/early 90's chicago house feel to it.

Do What You Want is easily one of the better recorded songs IN MUSIC this year. Shiit is so gawt damn flames.

And Kells screaming, "WE DON"T GIVE A..." is unintentional sonic hilarity at its finest.

Black Reign... to be honest, I can't say. I think they expected too much with all the promotion/anticipation building for this project; they were prolly
let down.

I didn't like Born This Way as a whole, but Judas and Marry the Night are personal favs of mine and i wanted her to replicate something like the aforementioned or Bad Romance to a tee (cuz let's be honest, it wouldn't hurt, right?).

Fame Monster is still one of the best pop LP's to ever release. Still bangs to this day and i have NO shame letting that shame blare from the whip speakers with the windows down when its frigid cold out or 84 degrees at the seaside.

I just do what i want.

@Howie Doroughberg lets be honest "Dope" is a wack song on the album........ :beli:

Her albums typically include the prototypical ballad for good measures sake - creates a seeming balance in a predominantly uptempo lp (i think every pop artist does this per the labels request - but who knows, maybe she just wanted to stretch her pipes).

Put this album in the Ipod... it'll get some burn but in the mean time... i'm feasting off of Do What You Want like a somoan family at a spam buffet.

Well, the thing aboot Gaga is that she has classical training.

The broad can hold her own!!!

Can't wait to hear that project with TB (she's trying to extend her longevity cuz the pop stuff is so temporary; if this tandem do indeed release a
classic, she will cement her legacy - and she ayne eem 30 yet!!!)

A project with Adele would be jeezus status.

And you ayne eem need to be vegas...

to bet on that.

yep

I guess Gaga's critics are too busy hyping up Queen Autotune Britney's "Britney Jean" album :laff:

In all honesty brehs I've never really listened to Gaga (outside of when my ex used to listen to her) but i'm open to all music, so i'm willing to give anything a chance. What albums should I look into by her?

@Black Reign

I'm actually interested in hearing what her and Tony will do next. Their first collaboration ( The Lady Is a Tramp) was good. :cool:

@Vintage Eclectic

Although she has good cuts on all of her albums, I think you should start off with 'The Fame Monster'. It's an EP that can be enjoyed all the way through.
