i don't think i could do it without an epidural tbh
that's usually when they "cut" you or god forbid you "tear" during labor. ugh. Some women request the doctor to stitch them up down there "just in case".
The doc just started stitching my wife back up immediately afterwards. He didn't even ask or anything. Some women request the doctor to stitch them up down there "just in case".
I'm telling yall..it goes back to normal afterwards and if you do kegels you'll be set.
I had the epidural with both my girls. My first I was induced and went without meds for about 16hrs and 6cm. Labor was moving slow and I was tired and uncomfortable so they gave me an epidural(so I could get some rest) and pitocin(to speed labor).LOL! Whatever makes the experience more comfortable for you then do it. I only did it natural because I didn't want the needle in my back or the drugs fukking up the kid. The whole thing goes by pretty quick once you get into the active labor. Those breathing techniques really do work
OH and laying down while pushing adds more stress to you and the baby if they can get you to be on your knees tilted forward then that will help the baby descend down the birth canal much faster.

My second daughter I waited until I was about 8cm to take the epidural. She took her time too but she was also breech and the L&D team were trying to turn her around without hurting her or strangling her with the cord.
I've never been big on c-sections unless they were medically necessary. They do so much damage opposed to vaginal child birth. I'd take an episiotomy any day over having my entire stomach cut open.
