I been the resident Spo defender here...

Y'all just gotta let him coach man. The hardest part of his job is the egos. Dude is a nerd for this shyt. He'll mostly put them in position. We just gotta follow through. The Culture is such a real thing. Riley really the Godfather of all this shyt..

La Spoestra Nostra :wow:
Gotta know when to eat crow. And I gotta take my hat off to spo. Dude is really looking like a young riles out there. I still believe he made a lot of mistakes in the past. But I gotta remember he was still young himself. And he prolly deserved more time to come into his own. One of my main criticisms is that he couldn't keep his guys motivated and he refused to make adjustments. But he has this team looking posessed right now. I said at the beginning of the season that I was gonna let the past be the past and give spo a fair chance this year. And he's proven to be a legitimately great coach. I've never been happier to be proven wrong. I love this fukkin team :wow:

We thought Spo was the problem and not fukkin Whiteside :russ:

A lot of us blamed Spo instead of Whiteside but Bam shows exactly why Spo couldn’t stand him.

Whiteside isn’t a dog, he’s a diva. He’s like a 2K player who only wants his stats. Butler would have whooped this dudes ass.
Well I been knew bam was the future for years. I could see it from the start. But I was hoping for more of a twin towers things. And I was happy when Hassan got traded so we could get a fresh start. But after seeing Him in Portland I realize dude just has no passion for the game. We can't have that here. Jimmy Butler was the best thing to happen for this young core.

A lot of us were on the wrong side of the Whiteside debate :sadcam:
Wrong side of the Dion debate :mjtf:
Wrong side of the Wade leaving debate :snoop:
Wrong side of the fire Spo debate :what:
Wong side of the Riley losing his mojo debate :wtf:
I was on the right side of the bustise debate at least

We've all been wrong about certain guys though. It's easy to get attached to our favorite players no homo. That's how our fanbase has always been. But at the end of the day we all just want our team to win. I'm happy to be proven wrong if it means our team gets better. I just wanna see growth. And we weren't getting that the past few years. We had completely stagnated.

But this year I feel like spo actually evolved. He's learned what works and what doesn't. Once he was willing to part ways with justise I knew he could be turning a corner. We got rid of the cancers and we have a real TEAM now. This feels like the Zo and hardaway days. Hard working gritty team that don't take no shyt. That's who the Miami heat is supposed to be :wow:

I was team Spo ever since Whiteside got paid. After he got his money he didn’t have the same work ethic and combined with teams having more film on him they were able to expose him.

I was definitely pro-Winslow though. And I still think he could be a productive player if he can manage to stay healthy. But there’s no denying that was a great trade and I was fine with it from the moment it happened. Once we got Jimmy, Justise became redundant and add on to that he was never healthy this season and we were able to get rid of 2 bad contracts and get 2 guys with experience that could help in the playoffs. It was a no-brainer.

In surprised you ain't talking hella shyt :ehh:
I remember when me and @HiphopRelated swore Riley lost it :mjlol: :dead:
Yep, I still hold onto the talking point that we had to get rid of Winslow, Waiters and Johnson though. So we can hold that lol.

I remember screaming on here why sign Whiteside to draft Bam, but everything worked out in the end.

Spo getting his respect this year though. Was never the biggest fan, but dude is proving once again that you give him some pieces and he'll figure something out

Spo has shown himself to be a playoff coach more than these other guys. He’s willing to give up regular season games to experiment with lineups, let guys mess up, and straight up scouting other teams out.

Whether you’re talking X and Os, player development, or even getting the most out of stars...Spo is elite. He’s straight up out coached a bunch of “regular season” Genius coaches

Imma draw the line on this Winslow shyt  Riles didnt want to trade Winslow, he wasn’t paying lip service when he said “that one hurts” after the trade. Dion tanked his value so much that there was no other option, we had to attach an asset to move him and aside from the rookie deals that weren’t going to be moved Winslow was the only contract with value. You’d have to peep Zach Lowe’s most recent article he touched on Riley’s level of disgust with Waiters and it was :wow: I dont think he’s ever been more disgusted by any player ever, he fukked up royally

I remember reading there was tension between justise and the front office somewhere. Apparently something about justise being on some diva shyt. Justise also threw some subliminals after the deal was done. And remember when we drafted herro, Pat Riley made this statement.

“It’s not a coincidence anymore that we’re drafting all the Kentucky players. Getting rid of the Duke concept. So, that’s enough of that.”

Just seemed extremely odd to make that statement when we still had justise on the roster. Almost like the writing was on the wall. I don't think Riley was resentful towards justise. But I think him and spo just finally accepted that he was never gonna reach the potential they envisioned. I think it was best for both sides to part ways.

I don't have any hard feelings towards justise personally. Sometimes players just don't pan out like we hope. But fukk Dion:camby:
