@Makavalli

I still don't know what to make of this shyt since I never knew this was going on with Winslow and the perception the front office had of him as a "Duke elitist". But all the stuff these podcasters and columnists are talking about ...there are crumbs of it out there.:lupe: Supposedly the Front office had 2 issues with Winslow:
  1. He doesnt play through minor pain or injury. I know someone in here mentioned this before. Think it was Prime.
  2. He supposedly has this attitude about him about not wanting to be a 3rd or 4th option. Apparently he felt they should have handed him the keys to the kingdom once Wade and Bosh were gone. Not sure i buy this one but there were signs of SOME issues.

Like apparently this comment was more about Winslow than a shot at Duke according to some

Either way this may have been the front office's perspective but I don't think it's the same among players because his teammates seemed to like the guy.

Also, I get the whole Heat culture thing of playing hurt but Riley has to be careful so that he doesnt get the reputation of pushing/pressuring players to play through injury. That's not a good look when you're trying to attract free agents.

damn i know arison and his son a duke alumni. battier too thats why they were quoting their song when winslow was drafted. I guess bam and tyler gave riley the advantage over drafting duke players cause look at kyrie. He stub a toe and he needs 2 weeks

Perhaps Dukies have that rep. :manny:
But im just worried about the perception that the Heat pushes players to play injured. Some are saying they pushed Waiters to play hurt last year which is bull. My thing we know Riley had that rep since the 90s. Remember the Kendall Gill comment about why he wouldnt sign with the Heat something about "that man be trying to end people's careers" when talking about the grueling training camps and the expectation to play through pain. But then again we've gotten free plenty agents to come play here so so fukk 'em.

Moving on.

yea true but that pat style was always about maximizing the talent of players a tier below superstars and all stars etc. someone like bron, AI, kobe had that competitiveness to say tape or stitch me up and send me
Out there.

Winslow isnt Talented enough to just have a spot guaranteed and if he aint outworking the rooks to gain his spot after going down with an injury then u can see why they would start getting frustrated with him

KZ might get some play tonight. No Jimmy, Herro or Leonard. And Spo said he doesn't expect Iguodala, Crowder or Hill to play so that leaves:
Nunn
Robinson
Jones
KO
Bam
Dragic
Silva

That's 7. 8 would probably be Vincent and I would assume 9 would be KZ or UD. They'll probably only play 8 though.

Even the little-known rookies all playing and having an impact on defense...Okpala, Silva, and even Vincent

Okpala getting used to the speed of the NBA game but he’s already showing good defensive instincts.

He still a little slow footed IMO

But looking at him he's just so long i can see how it's awkward for him to move fast. I look forward to seeing him develop.
