It’s crazy how some of the most prestigious universities are right next to the hood. Marquette in Milwaukee, University of Chicago is a stones throw from O Block, 63rd. USC. Isn’t Columbia by the hood in Manhattan too? @NewYorkIsBetterThanDallas
One of my professors at CSULB went to Duke in North Carolina and he said it was in the middle of the hood.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.

Yale University is technically in a crime ridden city too. New Haven

The area Columbia is in is cleaned up now but yea during the bad days of NYC that area was bad.

I had this convo with my friend one time and the reality is these schools have been here before those areas turned bad, especially the Ivy leagues on the east coast that been here since the first President and shyt.

I haven't been down there in about 5 years. San Fransico rent levels are bullshyt. I thought Downtown LA was on the come up, minus Skid Row.
It is on the come up big time although Covid brought it to a stand still last year. Right now Skid Row is completely surrounded by gentrification and new developments in Little Tokyo, The Arts District & The Fashion District. I think Skid Row will be done away with in about 3-4 years. Too much money/real estate at stake

Venice, Hollywood, DTLA, the industrial area by El Segundo, alot of the inner residential areas just look grimy

I've lived here for a month (Long Beach) and so far this city looks pretty rough for a place said to be full of hopes and dreams. It's really industrial, there's trash everywhere, and some parts just straight up stink. Granted, I only been to the area around Figueroa, Slauson and Florence, Boyle Heights and Hollywood. Crenshaw is surprisingly clean:ehh:. It's making miss how clean San Diego is.
If you ain’t in Bel Air you ain’t about it :jawalrus:
