I remember this one.

I live around here, there was another location near by that was in a predominantly black neighborhood that they closed down recently and that traffic then started driving a few more minutes to this spot. I used to live a few minutes from this one so I used to frequent here.

The location that was closed used to basically have the courts locked off every evening. It was only accessible in the mornings due to nikkas fighting at night. It had that rep too, people would avoid hooping at the closed location just because it was too much fukkery that's now made it's way to the "nicer" side of town

Current Situation

• Multiple reports indicate that LA Fitness is actively removing or repurposing basketball courts at various locations across the U.S., converting them into functional training areas or other amenities.

• This trend appears to be happening nationwide, with some locations already having closed or converted their courts, and others reportedly planning to do so by 2025.

Reasons for Removal
• Commonly cited reasons include:
• Frequent fights, theft, and other incidents associated with basketball court use.
• Low profitability and limited membership growth attributed to basketball amenities.
• Rising insurance and maintenance costs specific to basketball courts.
• Some locations are shifting space to more profitable or in-demand activities like pickleball or functional training

Can't blame them to be honest. Coli brehs should go to Lifetime instead, we can afford it, pay the fee, don't pay with your life.
I go there and they got rid of their gym a cpl years ago

Too much beef goes up at those courts. The Jason Hill-Columbus Short incident was classic.

Pickleball fun as hell though, yall should try it if you haven’t

Cost outweighed the benefits.

Said it back in the other thread, I’ve just been noticing less people play lately. Less people playing, but still a high number of incidents and maintenance leads to this.

Too many folks out there 27 years old “modeling my game after Dillon Brooks” and injuring people. For what? Ain’t no women at these courts watching, no money on the game, not a league with a prize at the end, etc. Basically no reason to be going like that against random folks and popping it off.

Folks play 2K more than they play actual basketball as they get older and I can see why.
