He should clarify what he considers an LA artist. We had these same questions on the NY list, they were putting mf's from Boston and Buffalo and shyt on there but not nikkas from Newark right up the street šŸ¤£...

To this point though, I'm skeptical of whether we'll get a Pac album on here. There were people clamoring for him on the NY list too, but while we all knew he was from there, he wasn't a NY artist at all. He's a California artist, the question is, does he qualify as an LA artist? I'd make the argument that he was already an "LA" artist by the time Strictly 4 My nikkaz dropped, he was definitely transitioning by that time. But it's clear they don't consider him LA from that point on because that album should be on here already and it isn't. And he's not gonna have 4 albums in the Top 10...

I'd say he should be considered an LA artist and as such they've shorted him big time on this list. I'm not even a Stan, he doesn't deserve four Top 10s but the fact we've made it to 11 and he hasn't had a single album placement means they've shorted Pac...

Dre's 2001 is a chronically overrated album, if its Top 10 it should be no higher than 8. That albu, could easily be argued as closer to 20...

Dot gonna deserve his placements and you can argue the ones theyve listed for him already are too low. Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest rappers of all time. To Pimp A Butterfly can be argued as THE best album ever, with nikkas from any region...

Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper from LA ever, only mf's had a run like him would be Cube and Pac. And if you disqualify Pac it's only Cube! Which is a legit debate, I don't like how they've shorted Cube on this list----->AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted is a GOAT5 LA album and one of the greatest rap drops period...

By the way, Victory Lap ain't no RIP stimulus. It's 100% deserving of being a GOAT10 LA album and if you made a list of, say, 500 greatest rap drops ever, as of today and people from wherever. It's on there. 50 years of hip hop, there aren't 500 better drops than Victory Lap and it should be WELL within a Top 500...

They ov3rrated the fukk outta Game and Snoop on here though...

It's in contention with To Pimp A Butterfly. Honestly Me Against The World and AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and Straight Outta Compton too, those are, realistically, the GOAT5 Los Angeles records...

Bro delete this post šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£...

DOC was an LA artist the same way Xzibit was and somehow X got two placements on here šŸ˜†...

Having the most entries is definitely skeptical, but he's a GOAT LA nikka. I'm glad they giving him his flowers...

The guy making this list can't be black. Black Angelenos are gonna disagree big time with the ordering of this list...

@10bandz @getmoney310cpt @Olā€™Otis @Boonapalist and I'm losing track of other Black Angelenos on here. Is the guy who made this list black? Because the ordering feels like,"LA hiphop according to non black Angelenos"...

My question is, at what point was Pac making "LA" albums? IMO it wasn't until AEOM when he hit DR. They could retroactively name MATW an "LA" album but I don't think Pac was claiming LA til he hit DR.

This is fair and I'd defer to those of you older than me, as to when Pac started rapping LA. I was only 7 when he died, I don't know when he went to pushing LA...

He's definitely a California artist, though...

So there's 10 slots left. I don't recall Death Certificate being listed?

If Pac is counted then that's 2 slots (3 if MATW counts, but I doubt it)

Documentary? Is it really a top 10 LA album? It's dope but fukking top 10, and over albums like Amerikkkaz Most Wanted and Dogg Fodd? (or did I miss it being listed). I'm not from LA, so maybe Documentary was fukking huge in LA at the time?

Something along the lines of:

10. Documentary?
9. Death Certificate
8. Makaveli
7. 2001
6. TBAB/GKMC
5. GKMC/TBAB
4. AEOM
3. Sraight Outta Compton
2. Doggystyle
1. The Chronic

Regulate....G Funk Era is not a better album than Dogg Food, c'mon now.

I didn't see DPG - Dillinger & Young Gotti on there? That shyt bangs to this day...and we played tf out of this in the midwest. Too many fukking YG albums on the list

The Chronic has to be #1...the impact transformed all of hip hop, planted LA atop hip hop's hierarchy, launched careers, a label, etc. Only reasonable option besides The Chronic is Straight Outta Compton.

Theyā€™re saying DOC is a LA artist.

I thinc thatā€™s being a bit disingenuous. Looking back at it now it may seem that way but when you put things in the context of the era, Texas and LA back in the 80s basically had the exact same black culture damn near. The black ppl in Cali were probably only one generation removed from Texas and Arkansas during the 80s. So ppl saying DOC sounded LA, I thinc he sounded Texas, just people are underestimating how similar they both were back then.
when doc came to la he never looked back.. that's a la album....with a texas flow...

ISO you a K Dot hater, Iā€™m not one of his glazers but DAMN is a good album. You donā€™t even like the song Pride?
Nah I donā€™t hate him. I hate his fans. I just think he gets glazed too much.

I donā€™t like DAMN at all but I like TPAB and Iā€™ve always been a fan of his work when he first came on the scene.

To say DAMN is a better ā€œLA albumā€ than Dogg Food is crazy. Dogg Food is one of the first albums you think of when you think of peak West Coast rap.

LA heads going to need to explain to me how The Documentary is a top 10 LA album
It's not šŸ¤£...

Looks like i was wrong and Valtown is black. What's his connection to Los Angeles, though? Because his list reads like, the "Best LA albums to a Nonblack Angeleno", "or best LA albums from a transplant" list...
