They’re saying DOC is a LA artist.

I thinc that’s being a bit disingenuous. Looking back at it now it may seem that way but when you put things in the context of the era, Texas and LA back in the 80s basically had the exact same black culture damn near. The black ppl in Cali were probably only one generation removed from Texas and Arkansas during the 80s. So ppl saying DOC sounded LA, I thinc he sounded Texas, just people are underestimating how similar they both were back then.

Didn't think I would get so irked about RRG not making this list, but I really am. Not only is it a great album, but it has everything this list claims to be about.

Impact, Nostalgia, & Acclaim. Some of these albums have none of the above.

Snoop's 2nd best album is the Last Meal, and that didn't even make the list.

Would have been easier to make a west coast list and not just LA...because at this point, what even is an L.A. album? An album with the traditional LA sound? an album from an LA artist? An album from someone that was born in LA?

Dogg Food should be in the top 20….

I’ll never forget the first time I heard it. My mama had the cassette and I snuck it played it one day she was out..

shyts crazy because she wasn’t into gangsta rap like that but she liked the hits that Death Row were making. She said it was too vulgar and explicit for me to listen to it and man she was right. Tha Dogg Pound were wildin on that album….especially Kurupt with his hard on hoes bars. But he was blacking out all over that album. :dead:

Also….DOC making this list is very shocking. If he made the list then fukk it….you might as well throw Bone Thugs Creepin On Ah Come up on here since it’s a heavy west coast produced album released on Ruthless too.

I don’t understand the premise of this list

Damn...u made me remember me & my friends playing the 'Bomb ass p*ssy' interlude on bytches answering machines when they didn't answer the phone in Junior High.

Your mom was hella right about it being too explicit lol

Breh! “Bomb Ass p*ssy” was the song that fukked me up the most off that album :mjlol:

Hearing Kurupt smashing shortie on the intro had me :wtf:

I turned that shyt off outta fear that I would get caught immediately. :damn:

I didn’t listen to that album again until I got older during the limewire era lol. Content wise it’s poor but from a rapping, production, mixing and sequencing standpoint? it’s a masterpiece.

There’s still

2 Dre albums
2 Pac albums
The Documentary
Victory Lap (R.I.P stimulus)
2 Kendrick Albums
Quik is the Name
Regulate
SOC
Doggystyle

Possible:

Eazy Duz it (cant see them leaving him off)
Safe & Sound
Suga Free- Gospel
The Last Meal

Thats 16 albums off the top of my head for a list thats criteria rewards acts pike Vince Staples, Schoolboy Q, Dom Kennedy, and The Pharcyde despite impact and commercial success being 2 of their factors
He should clarify what he considers an LA artist. We had these same questions on the NY list, they were putting mf's from Boston and Buffalo and shyt on there but not nikkas from Newark right up the street 🤣...

To this point though, I'm skeptical of whether we'll get a Pac album on here. There were people clamoring for him on the NY list too, but while we all knew he was from there, he wasn't a NY artist at all. He's a California artist, the question is, does he qualify as an LA artist? I'd make the argument that he was already an "LA" artist by the time Strictly 4 My nikkaz dropped, he was definitely transitioning by that time. But it's clear they don't consider him LA from that point on because that album should be on here already and it isn't. And he's not gonna have 4 albums in the Top 10...

I'd say he should be considered an LA artist and as such they've shorted him big time on this list. I'm not even a Stan, he doesn't deserve four Top 10s but the fact we've made it to 11 and he hasn't had a single album placement means they've shorted Pac...

Dre's 2001 is a chronically overrated album, if its Top 10 it should be no higher than 8. That albu, could easily be argued as closer to 20...

Dot gonna deserve his placements and you can argue the ones theyve listed for him already are too low. Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest rappers of all time. To Pimp A Butterfly can be argued as THE best album ever, with nikkas from any region...

Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper from LA ever, only mf's had a run like him would be Cube and Pac. And if you disqualify Pac it's only Cube! Which is a legit debate, I don't like how they've shorted Cube on this list----->AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted is a GOAT5 LA album and one of the greatest rap drops period...

By the way, Victory Lap ain't no RIP stimulus. It's 100% deserving of being a GOAT10 LA album and if you made a list of, say, 500 greatest rap drops ever, as of today and people from wherever. It's on there. 50 years of hip hop, there aren't 500 better drops than Victory Lap and it should be WELL within a Top 500...

They ov3rrated the fukk outta Game and Snoop on here though...
#1 has to be The Chronic, right?
It's in contention with To Pimp A Butterfly. Honestly Me Against The World and AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and Straight Outta Compton too, those are, realistically, the GOAT5 Los Angeles records...
These Kendrick bots fukking crazy

DAMN is trash the streaming bots and critics on the payroll inflate its worth

That shyt is not wavy this literally shyts on every track DAMN this track alone is better than the whole DAMN

Kendrick shyt no matter the glaze and reviews does not stack up next to the real classics from the 90’s :mjlol:

Bro delete this post 🤣 🤣...

DOC is from Dallas Texas born and raised but is this high on an LA only list ?

DOC was an LA artist the same way Xzibit was and somehow X got two placements on here 😆...
Ice T with the most entries on the list 🤣🤣🤣
Having the most entries is definitely skeptical, but he's a GOAT LA nikka. I'm glad they giving him his flowers...

The guy making this list can't be black. Black Angelenos are gonna disagree big time with the ordering of this list...

@10bandz @getmoney310cpt @Ol’Otis @Boonapalist and I'm losing track of other Black Angelenos on here. Is the guy who made this list black? Because the ordering feels like,"LA hiphop according to non black Angelenos"...
