Where Kyries role is to give Lebron rest and be a scoring machine
His role is to be a scorer and secondary playmaker. It's a perfect suitable role for him, because he has never been a strong playmaker for others as a lead ball handler.

So it's a shyt system because he shares the ball with a better player (LeBron). Forget the titles and Finals appearances, offensive rating rankings, NBA three point records in the playoffs. Kyrie's efficiency is this good because he plays on an uber efficent offense.

Dame is better for carrying a team dolo and creating for others :yeshrug: when you consider his health as well I'd probably lean towards Dame.

But if I need a huge game I'm taking Kyrie. He has a special isolation talent to where he can create any shot he wants. Both are rather bad defensively but it's close :ehh:

I will say if you put Dame next to LeBron I think he would excel just as well or perform maybe even better than Kyrie in his tenure :ehh:

Lol I'm not seeing exactly how "range"would benefit a player if they are not making them.

He doesn't convert them at a high enough clip for it to be regarded as an attribute for him over Kyrie

Dame shot 37% from 3 last year...Kyrie shot 40% from 3 last year. In fact Kyrie has shot the 3 better in every single year but one during their careers.

Kyrie during his rookie year playing with a bunch of castoffs and D league talent shot the 3 ball better that year than Dame ever had for his whole career. Kyrie is the better shooter...in every measurable metric...3ball, midrange and at the rim.

I know we always see Dame shoot it from deep and he makes a fair amount...but 37% to 40% is vast difference when comparing elite players/shooters who play the same position

And Kyrie has stupid range on his jumpshot also.
I just told you range brings the defenses out further and improves spacing for everyone on the floor to operate and makes you a deadlier P&R player. I also just told you Dame takes threes on higher volume than Kyrie when you brought up the percentages, the difference in 3PT% is not as vast as you are making it out to be.

Kyrie is a smoother iso version of Dame. He's also a better shooter.

baby, that was the old me
Kyrie is a better finisher ( really probably better than any guard in the league)

Dame is no slouch finishing either & has the gift of being able to elevate over & dunk where as Kyrie can't .

Kyrie has the quickest handles in the league bar none but dame is real crafty with handle creating space.

Dame has the deep dead eye range but Kyries middy is on elite levels.

As for playmaking dame is the much more polished maestro making better reads, passes & knowing when to lead a team on offense.

Dame wins

I know what you told me. And what I'm saying is what good is his range if he isn't efficient? And don't get me wrong...he's still a great shooter, but you"re making it out to be an attribute but he really doesn't convert at a high enough clip for that to be mentioned as something that tips the scales.

Portland ranked 17th and 14th in 2 point and 3 point field goal percentage respectively so the "elite impact" of his range isn't reflected there. So how exactly are u quantifying that?

And between 2 elite players and 2 of the best shooters in the league a 3% gap is huge. There isn't even any point in bringing up the fact that Dame takes 2 more 3s because he never shot the ball as well as Kyrie even when he took less 3s.

I gotta go with dame. He makes a good point. Outside of his rookie year he's been above 500 and in the playoffs in the west. Has kyrie ever even been in playoff contention before Lebron?
Playing with a 20/10 front court man was a big part of that. Cant just paint the picture that Lillard was willing those teams to the playoffs solo.

And this is why Kyrie wants to leave. Most people are choosing dame because he leads his team to the offs, he's a leader etc. You can't be mad at kyrie if he wants the same thing.

We all know LeBron makes folks better. Dame would prob be shooting at the same percentages Kyrie does if he played with Bron
