Kwame Brown gets a bad rap for being an NBA Bust

He wasn't even projected to be the #1 pick to begin with. Not by fans or so-called experts. In fact, there was no single player who stood out above anyone else. MJ, who has proven to be one of the worst talent evaluators in history of the NBA, put Kwame in that position. He could have easily been selected in middle or bottom half of the top ten without anyone batting an eye.

He was doomed from the start

But to his credit, he had a nice, lengthy career (13 seasons).

This draft was awful....in regards to starpower/game changers

was actually a pretty productive 1st round. Kwame sucked no matter where he was going, but there should be a study of the psychological aspect of going #1. it seemed to ruin Bennett

I disagree.

IIRC, he or Eddy Curry were the most likely players to be projected to go #1 in the draft. Chandler & Gasol (who went 2 & 3 respectively) weren't even projected as potential 1st picks.

Correction, Kwame is a bust regardless of being drafted by MJ or not. But the fact that he was only added to his phenomenon.
