I think that's the most important factor and also the freedom the modern NBA player has now compared to back then. Some NBA players could very well make 75 million dollars a year in salary in the future due to the money the NBA is making off those tv contracts. Some retired players see that and think" Damn he making all that money and I was way better then him back in my day".

They feel like they helped made the NBA what it is today and rarely see the benefits for it, I get it but shytting on the new generation is not going to help the fact that you feel like you are owed something.
