Thats true....

Only former NBA players consistently tear down the current players. You rarely see this in the NFL

Imagine Prime being like "I'd get 20 picks a year in today's NFL....they all throwing 50 passes a game!!!"

I think there is a level of jealousy there. Former NBA players see that there is a difference in skill level and athleticism on average compared to previous generations, and they feel some type of way about it.

Lol, nba former players are wipes from the hustory if the game by the nba.

If they dont sprak the nba and analyst will have peoe never even knowing how good they were.

The nfl actually praises their former players and earlier eras, so there is less generational hostility.

You would never habe a nfl xommish try to delete the 50s and 60s and 70s of their league and act like knly the 80s and after matter or deserves to be recognized, thats what stern dis to the nba.

They had that disrespectful top 50 in the 90s and ignored legit atgs and put scottie pippen in the mix just because of the bulls.

I feel like a lot of NFL guys may feel like their era was superior too, but they don't have a large segment of their fanbase kissing their ass and investing in their childhood memories.

The problem is more with the fans who encourage that behavior. There's people who watch the NBA literally just to see one guy lose and argue that Jordan was better.

Stern's marketing the league as individuals rather than teams created this, for better and for worse :francis:

Teams change with time and you can adjust your rooting interest according to whatever new players come in.

Individuals are frozen in time :francis:
