the only reason why he even signed to a major was because the group he stanned (Sonic Youth) signed to DGC as well. The group went into Nevermind thinking if they sold 250K (which was light back then), they woulda been fine with that.

To date that record has sold 30 mil worldwide. That shyt overwhelmed him. To be labeled a spokesman for a generation is mind boggling. How many people in the world have that sort of pull? On top of that, he had some physical ailment with his stomach that nobody could figure out, so part of his drug dependency was him self-medicating something nobody could fix.

This is what I don't understand. Everything I've read about Kurt tells me he was as far away from being a racist as possible. How did he end up marrying that piece of shyt?

Did you read what he said? It's not as simple as him saying he's not a racist. Did he have ignorant and/or prejudiced views on this or that? Probably. But I've never seen any evidence of that, and Courtney's racist views have been documented on this same forum.

Someone talking about his hatred of white people performing in a black art form, hip hop being the new punk rock, and writing in his private journal about the racism he sees in his town, doesn't sound like someone that would marry a person like Courtney Love. Assuming white people are racist due to racist affiliations and for marrying racist,would cause me to hate all white people.I guess that must mean theres an awful lot of racist white people.So I am comfortable with my decision to "hate" I guess. I would call jt being cautious of letting everybody into the bbq and vouching for cacs based on what they say outloud and publically.

Hes an artist,he observes.Doesnt tell us much about how he really feels.Didnt feel strongly enough to not marry a racist.What would u be considered if you married a racist white woman?yet a white man marrying a racist white woman is considered a white man concerned with the plight of black people? Nah he was just another fan of this rap shyt.Even whites didnt view other whites rapping as "real" back then. So his views are purely based on the entertainment perspective.whites have been able to put racism aside so not to comprimise the entertainment value of a great show or a sport.

Nirvana changed the game overnight. Grunge gave us so many great voices like Kurt, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder etc... Eddie the only one still alive. All those hair metal bands were salty as fukk for a long time. Kurt didn’t kill hair metal, the people were ready for something different. Not everyone was partying and having a good time. There was a lot of disenfranchised youth as well as adults waiting for someone to be their voice. That was Kurt, he never imagined it would get as big as it did.

watching it now as an adult, its clear as day he didnt want to be there and didnt want the accolade of being in his position that he was in. some sad shyt really

She the on that paid 50k for the hit and even used his suicide note that he wrote in early 93 when he actually THOUGHT about offing himself before he checked into a mental hospital.

It doesn't read like a suicide note until the last few sentences and that part looks like it was written by someone else. Plus right after Kurt's death they found a 'handwriting practice sheet' in Courtney Love's bag which is some of the most damning evidence to me. Why would anyone even have something like that?

Even if Kurt didn't shoot himself (I know most ppl suggest Coutney had a hand in it) he likely wasn't going to live that much longer anyways. His mind and body was detoriating from his drug use, depression and stomach illness he had. At the point, he had given up and his unplugged concert was like a farewell to everyone.

I didn't get into Nirvana until years later but yeah Kurt was that dude. From interviews and clips I seen where he discussing Hip hop/Black musicians he always spoke positive. Grunge and Rap music was like 2 sides of the same coin.
