Very overrated musician, but Nirvana's worthy of the "classic" status they enjoy unlike Pearl Jam who were truly a "right place at the right time" band (seriously, Pearl Jam is garbage; listen to them out of context and they're just a mediocre ass Adult Contemporary band). Cobain was a pretty good songwriter and wrote some quality melodies.

No disrespect to Eddie Vedder but I really couldn't get into most of Pearl Jam's music. Nirvana really had the spice that brought grunge- and alternative rock in general to the mainstream.

Ten, VS (especially), and Vitalogy are damn near perfect albums.

The only thing i can say is imagine if Chris Cornell stayed with Temple of the Dog and never left instead of giving Eddie the band to form Pearl Jam?!!!! Mannnnn

Stone & Gossard don’t get the credit they deserve for shaping the sound rock took from the late 80s forward. We taking about Green River, Temple of the Dog, Mother Love Bone AND THEN they finish it off with Pearl Jam
