No disrespect to Eddie Vedder but I really couldn't get into most of Pearl Jam's music. Nirvana really had the spice that brought grunge- and alternative rock in general to the mainstream.Very overrated musician, but Nirvana's worthy of the "classic" status they enjoy unlike Pearl Jam who were truly a "right place at the right time" band (seriously, Pearl Jam is garbage; listen to them out of context and they're just a mediocre ass Adult Contemporary band). Cobain was a pretty good songwriter and wrote some quality melodies.
