I love KRS but his style can be bland to me at times. I've been meaning to get my hands on this album for a while tho. I need a link to check it out and have a better opinion in this thread
i've heard most of 80s/90s shyt, and good amount of his stuff since the 2000s.
he's very legendary, can perform his ass off, has always repped the culture of hip hop to the fullest, and has a very large catalog, but he's just not that great on wax. but i'm not saying he didn't earn his stripes of course.

Let's not act like KRS has not had some questionable steps. His first two albums were ground breaking and great.
Edutainment was a nice concept but was not executed well. Autobiography of Kirk Jones and Disposable Arts are examples of concepts that were carried out a LOT better.
I Got Next - while it had some real gems "Step in a World" it had some horrid duds; "Come to the Party"
The Sneak Attack - why, why and WHY? did he make this?
Spiritual Minded - AGAIN??? Basura kid!
Bottom line. Kris has been VERY inconsistent throughout his career. Next to the Roots, and maybe Kane, he has THE BEST live performance. Survivor Skills is a hot album..great seeing Buckshot (who also has a good stage show.
But Nas' career, albumwise and lyrically >>>>>>> KRS-One

Of all the classic rappers in the game KRS has fallen off the least, his catalog from 2001-today is as good as any and Survival Skills is perhaps the best of them. KRS has cemented his status as a God MC.
