Did I say that her death was justified? What in my post insinuates that it is her fault? How can I fault someone who is mentally ill? All of this could have been prevented if her family got her the mental help she needed. She was clearly mentally ill, and yes the police are at fault and could have handled the situation differently. They could have thrown gas bombs or bombs that would blind her and infiltrate her home without having to kill her.

This thread isn't even really about the case, more so the black community and it's unwillingness to accept that mental illness exists, the reality that it need to be treated and the consequences of not doing so.

It could've been handled differently of course, but to allege she has a mental illness and bring in the point that the black community doesn't acknowledge is it kind of moot. Do you know for a fact she was mentally ill? If not, then your point makes it seem to shift blame even if that wasn't your intention.

No I do not know for a fact if she was mentally ill, but she most likely was. I have family members and friends who showed the same behavior. And I'm not alleging that the black community does not acknowledge mental illness, the reality is that they don't.

i mean that's why we're at this point in society. We used to have grandparents with good morals even in the inner cities, but the government allowed the drug epidemic in the 80's and wiped that out so now families are fucced even more than before which is crazy.

I don't have the answer and i don't think anybody does really. how do you fix a generational problem in short order?
