"Kool Moe Dee recently revealed that he turned down the opportunity to portray drug dealer Nino Brown in the hit 1991 film New Jack City.

"I turned down New Jack City. I was supposed to be in New Jack City with Ice-T," the How Ya Like Me Now" MC revealed in an interview posted to Hip Hop Since 1987's IG. "The Irony is that I was gonna be the drug dealer and Ice-T was gonna be the cop. I turned it down because even though I wanna act and I love to do it, you are trying to get Kool Moe Dee as a drug dealer — it's not getting an actor. Wesley Snipes did a great job, quite frankly, and I'm a big fan of Wesley Snipes. To take my image and make me a drug dealer is something that the oppressor would love to do, and I just wouldn't do it."

Kool Moe Dee is no stranger to acting, and he told The Foundation in 2003 that he missed the opportunity to bond with Tupac Shakur on the set of the 1997 film Gang Related.

"We didn't get a chance to talk as much as I wished we could have," he explained. "I believe that if we had then maybe he would still be here. I saw the direction that he was going into. He was a Gemini, and with them if they are not leaders, but are put in leadership positions, things can go wrong. He had leadership qualities but was not a natural leader. Because of that, he was an individual and not a follower but an individual. When you're in that position, it's easy to feel that you have to validate yourself by saying you're still from the hood and still gutter."

Check out the clip above."

Kool Moe Dee is always lying.

Barry Michael Cooper (who is NOT white) said the only person he had in mind for Nino when he wrote the movie, was Wesley Snipes, after seeing him on Broadway and the Michael Jackson "Bad" mini-film. He said he's always been a fan of Wesley and wanted him for Nino when he wrote the movie. Which is why he also brought in Wesley for Sugar Hill a few years later.

Just like LL said, "Moe Dee will lie over and over again with a straight face, that's why he's a sucka".

MC Shan said that (while he was heavily hooked on and smoking mad crack) he was supposed to have Will's role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but he turned it down. The people at NBC and Benny Medina said that wasn't true.

What's next? Kurtis Blow is gonna say he turned down the role of Alonzo in Training Day and let Denzel have it?

Above the fray.
Stretching the truth here. Reason why I won't say that he is straight up lying is because Oran Juice Jones was G Money when they began filming. Behind the scenes politics, but Allen Payne got the role back. True story that other cast members have said in print interviews.

So Moe Dee probably read for the part at some point, but it didn't work out.

One of the featurettes on the NJC dvd had a segment about director and producers wanting Wesley for the part.

Not to discredit what you’re saying but the director could tell a lie as easy as KMD

Back to the Future's Marty McFly was written for Michael J Fox but at one point he didnt have the part. Just because he wrote the part thinking of Wesley it doenst mean others didnt read or even get the part.
Hell ... it doesnt even mean wesley wanted the part at first....
