Season has returned

I'm here to shed light and drops some knowledge on one of hip-hops little known on here except by some of the older cats on here. Moe Dee was really one of the more intelligent rappers in the game (or I should say cerebral as most rappers in those days went to at least county college). But he was so advanced back in the day he had to actually dumb his style down to blow up. Plus evem though he and LL never battled face to face the records he dropped against him was dope. Also his 50 greatest MCs book is a must read. Even if you disagree he breaks down every rappers strengths and weaknesses and shows why they are the best at what they do. We don't give our elders enough respect so I'm gonna give them some shine.

My older brother hooked me up with this tape on my birthday

I'm a big Kool Moe Dee fan, if he isn't in my top 20 of all time he's close. Was so much I liked about him as an MC/Artist and as a person there's admirable qualities too like how much he seems to love Hip Hop. I loved his book too.

Let's Go was ill too lol. Moe Dee was an innovator, he had mad flows that would be used later, even on some of his more under the radar albums.

I loved the concept and execution of Go To Work. Some other tracks I like are All Night Long, Knowledge Is King, Rise And Shine. There's loads though, I like that joint, think it's called The Don... Underrated in my opinion.

The 1st one was better.......:damn:

I'm probably the only one on this forum that thinks Moe Dee beat LL, but I'm :old:

Your not, I've always thought he beat LL, infact quite badly beat him. And true Let's Go was the illest, when he did the L's on Death Blow though I burst out laughing when I first heard that lol, cause he did it again and went on even longer this time lmao.

He never compromised himself and even though it shortened his career. He definitely did it for love of the game.

Yeah he never went to a gangsta rap style even though he got pressure to do so. To be honest he can still spit ill today and I would certainly check for a new Kool Moe Dee album. Got nothing but respect and appreciation for Moe Dee.
