People who want to see New Day break up are not paying attention to the landscape of WWE at the moment.

If they think it will benefit Kofi, wrong.
If you think it will benefit Big E or Xavier then maybe but more than likely, only short-term

Fact is, WWE is OVERCROWDED as F***. They got way too many people on the roster and being in a group actually helps you get your TV time because WWE can throw the group on there . Look at the Riot Squad, Does anybody honestly think Sarah Logan would get TV time by herself if she was just a solo act? Or the Blonde one? But since WWE is trying to stuff as many people in a 3 hour show as possible, they can do 6 man tags galore which is why Riot squad is always on TV.

bottom line, having them together will keep them relevant and on TV. Having them separate will make all of them likely irrelevant again.

The argument that the gimmick is too goofy is incorrect to. They are fun and "tongue-in-cheek" humor which means they appeal to kids who are the WWE target demo by the way. They also appeal to adults because their is a "wink wink" behind their humor too. And last thing, they are different. There is no other act out there like them in the WWE and they are equally loved by marks and casuals.

Seriously.

People are obsessed with breaking up the New Day and I don't understand it.
I'm not surprised at that.

There's always been a significant amount of people who have felt that Kofi was too good for the New Day. Wrestlers included. I always remember The New Day talk about how Big Show used to pull Kofi to the side and asking him why he was hanging out with E and Woods. Show would always tell him "you should be in the title picture, those 2 are bringing you down/holding you back."

I don't think they should break up at all, but I'm not shocked at people bringing it up

Kofi becoming champion with New Day shows aspiring Black wrestlers that if he can be champ as part of a happy-go-lucky, dancing, unicorn horn wearing, pancake throwing comedy act, that they can do it with just about any gimmick. So why would he want to give that up? To be taken seriously? By who?

He was taken seriously enough by management/creative to win the title in the first place. He was taken seriously enough to have Wale throw a whole event to celebrate his match. He was taken seriously enough for his win to get mainstream attention. He was taken seriously enough by the fans to have them chant his name over the guy just five years prior they hijacked the show for him to get his shot. So who else does he need to prove anything to?

The New Day gimmick is just too goofy for a world champion. :francis:At this point, Kofi is bigger than the New Day. Kofi sticking with New Day makes it seem like the real WWE champion is New Day, not Kofi Kingston. Plus a split up could potentially lead to a Big E WWE title run. :ehh:
I actually think they need eachother imo.

He gotta ditch them, get a haircut and get rid off all that neon he wears. Turn him heel leader of a black faction

Man, Get the fukk outta here with that bullshyt nikka. Why does every black man need to cut their hair to be taken more seriously?

This. I didn't like that Big E and Xavier Woods talked a lot more than Kofi on Smackdown. I get that it's how the group works but Kofi deserved more mic time.

Woods is top 3 on the mic in the WWF. Hell no. You don't throw that away. And Kofi talked to Vince man to man already. He doesn't need to prove that he can talk because we know he can already.

All of this but especially the bolded. There isn't a single act in WWE today quite like The New Day. They have wide appeal to pretty much every corner of wrestling fan because they're versatile as hell. The casual fans love them because they're funny and relatable, smarks like them because they're undeniably talented in the ring and on the mic. They can do comedy bits, but they can be intense when need be. When everyone else is coming out to generic butt rock with Windows screensavers on the tron, these motherfukkers have a full gospel choir singing them to ring with unicorns in the background while they wear ring gear inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog.

They leave an impression because they stand out. You could sit twenty people who don't watch modern WWE at all down to see an episode of Smackdown and I guarantee every single one of them would have something good or bad to say about The New Day. I don't see how they would benefit at all from becoming yet another generic tough guy act like.....damn near everyone else in WWE.
