I wrote this out of stannery but with a second look Jordan really was up against more aggressive Ds. Kobe walking through 2-3 defends without being touched half the time.look closely, the Jordan was up against better D
no need. I'll let the man himself tell it:
so jordan didn't study any players too
stop what? i didnt mention kobe at all.dude was on the verge of leaving till jerry west gave him a lifeline with gasol
stop it

Kobe is one of the most talented guys to ever play, but he has had more advantages given to him than any other top 10 player ever.
and they all retiring with no rings. i could give a fukk if LeBron, Dwight, Deron Williams, and Pau. he still got 5dude had a average/scrub team for 1.5yrs and nikka started crying about wanting to get traded dude was begging for a trade
while
AI
CARTER
BRON
TMAC
and other dudes were carrying garbage players for years without help
thats why bean will never be top 5
top 10 at best
How? Especially compared to Magic and Bird and possibly even Shaq.
It's like the Phil Jackson argument. Are they great because they were placed in better situations than other players or are they great because they are just more talented in the long run than everyone else.
Kobe is a great player with great skill. he is undoubtably one of the best ever However...
he is the son of an NBA player
got to play overseas with pros growing up
got his father to send him tapes to study the greats(jordan)
got drafted by the most recognizable and successful(arguably) NBA franchise
got to play with the best big man of his era Shaq in Shaq's Prime
got to be coached by the same guy who coached Michael Jordan
once he was on his own without a Shaq, he wanted to leave, they got him Pau Gasol in his Prime
he is going to play with the best big man of this era Dwight Howard in his prime
Having a great center is the biggest advantage you can have, having the best in his prime is playing with 2 in their prime is unheard of.
I don't know if that's really relevant. At that level, HS, pure talent is going to get you further than anything else. It might have helped more during his NBA career than in the lower levels.he is the son of an NBA player

Play 17 years on the league's greatest team that has a storied history of acquiring great centers and that might happen. Wilt retired in '73 and the Lakers picked up Kareem in '75.Having a great center is the biggest advantage you can have, having the best in his prime is playing with 2 in their prime is unheard of.
all that is worthless if he isnt in the gym getting his game on point. thats why hes outlasted most of those whos been compared to em. shaq was my favorite player until he left for miami but dont you think shaq was lucky to play kobe also? shaq didnt win anything until he got with phil and kobe. and gasol wasnt winning before kobe either. he was the perfect piece to take the lakers to the promiseland but it was kobes team at that point. gasol improved just by being around phil and kobe. yall need to stop tryin to discredit kobe career. the dude has worked hard for his.

Compared to Magic, who got drafted to the same team.
Started playing with Kareem who was the best big man of his era and maybe all-time.
Got the #1 pick in James Worthy two years after he joined the team.
Coached by one of the greatest coaches in history.
Jerry West kept a team around him from 82 until retirement. Almost no drop off.
Yeah Magic had it good also, right up there with Kobe.
What Kobe has over the others is longevity. You don't think the Lakers could've pulled something stupid off had Magic played for another 5 years? You're damn right they would have.
How do you think the Lakers are able to afford getting Dwight and Nash now? Kobe has indirectly paid for himself and the team around him through his consistent play.

That's a damn 2 year dropoff.
It just so happens that Kobe bridged the gap between something that regularly occurs for the Lakers.
Ayo Kobe... your whole damn style was bitten!
none of that has anything to do with or changes the facts.
