It was very obvious that running the offense through Kobe out the post was there best bet at this point. Pau can't anchor the O as well as he used to, Dwight isn't a post up player you can run the ball through, and Kobe can't create out on the perimeter. Nash is also not as effective as he used to be.

I wish they had come up with something like this sooner but hiring D'Antoni instead of Phil would do that.

Kobe can dominate almost anyone out of the post and Nash is a deadly shooter. That way they can at least try to play inside out. He can set up Pau and Dwight with simple passes from the midpost as well. Too bad Metta World Sabotage wants to jack up 10 threes a game.

So if you're not hating, then what's your point?

My question is this...Kobe didn't seem to be the least bit worried throughout all the losing, at least not with the same intensity of impatience he had when he was playing with Smush and demanded a trade.

Lakers stumbled out the gate and kept losing despite Kobe scoring 30 a game...his 30 wasn't translating to wins. However, Kobe waits until it's nearly mathematically improbable for LA to make the playoffs, before he decides to start sharing the ball and getting teammates involved.

Now he's looking heroic for putting the fire out, when he essentially helped the fire grow. If he continues to play this way they make the playoffs.

Pau and Dwight were sending subliminals his way when they were losing....there were times where they felt essentially ignored on offense.

No one wants to hustle back on D if they ain't eating on O.

Did he dig the whole deeper, in order to dig them out? Like he allegedly did in High School. I want your opinions.

That's bullshyt. The '08-'11 Lakers played defense just fine for 4 seasons with Kobe shooting 20+ shots a game through the regular season and playoffs.

The Lakers clearly have defensive inefficiencies including Kobe himself and the pace they were running with D'Antoni's defense wasn't conducive to an old team getting back on transition defense. They still have problems on defense despite the new offense.

Had '11 Dwight been anchoring the defense, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Unfortunately, its pretty easy to see that he isn't 100%.

It's not necessarily the amount of shots he takes as opposed to when he's taking those shots and how those shots affect the flow of the offense. You know that.

kobe is one of the best pure shooters in teh NBA. Sometimes i wonder about how much greater a bball player he could have been if his ego didn't get in the way of his decision making.

So he was taking different shots at different times than he has for the past 10-15 years? Bullshyt.

This team is just flawed.

Yes, Kobe is openly sabotaging the Lakers so he can take all the credit for the Lakers having one of the worst records in the West. Who gives a fukk about a ring?

Let me add that this is effectively the 4th offensive system the Lakers have run in 47 games and the 5th in the past two years.

Its obvious that everyone wasn't on the same page especially with the amount of roster and coaching turnover the Lakers have had.

This team is just flawed.

The same team has won 3 out of their last 4, yes I know, small sample size. But whatever flaws this team had during the losses, will remain even if they continue to win...it is what it is.

Entertain me for a minute, if the Lakers continue to win 65-70% of their games for the remainder of the season, it will have done so with those very same flaws still in existence. What has changed? Kobe passing the ball around?

And no it isn't bull shyt....if I take 20+ shots a game, if the bulk of shots come in the 4th quarter that's different than taking 20+ shots a game and 10 of them are in the 1st quarter. Two totally different scenarios, one of which more often than not, creates a stagnant offense.

Kobe moving to facilitator and running the offense out of the midpost. Nash being back in the lineup and providing consistent outside shooting. He's spotting up much more often. Earl Clark scoring on a consistent basis. Coaches finally getting the frontcourt rotation down and allowing Pau to play some in the post. Steve Blake coming in so Duhon can't ruin his stints. Jamison being used in different ways. Pace being slowed down.

Their defense is still trash. That hasn't changed and probably won't until Dwight gets better(not happening this year).

I doubt Kobe's shot distribution by quarter has changed since he took over as 1st option in '05.

:dead:........some of you be on some bullshyt that is just unfathomable.....

I'm not trolling....I love Kobe's game, my favorite player in the last 15 years. What I am questioning is his decision-making ability....yes, even after 5 rings and multiple accolades. His decision making (on the basketball court) sometimes seems...questionable.

Is he immune to those type of questions due to his 5 rings?
