"It's not a mistake that all those deals end the same year Kobe's does. They have probably been planning for their next phase for a while," said one general manager. "The Busses and [Lakers GM] Mitch [Kupchak] are always thinking about the next big deal."

this is some illuminati sht .

It's not like he ever did a decent job against either of them.

Durant is still a better and more efficient scorer, better handles, better shooter, runs the floor better, and can finish with the best of them. He's improved his rebounding and now his play making abilities.

Durant does NOT have better handles than Melo.

Durant's jumper and his length and the fact that he is more athletic gives him an advantage over Melo.

Melo sometimes struggles finishing at the rim because he isn't athletic as he used to be.

but watching him grab his own rebound is :noah: :ohlawd:

That quote says as much about the fundamental differences between Melo and LeBron as it does about Kobe's entire outlook on defense.

If Kobe is guarding LeBron, he'll overplay him and try to outmuscle him and LeBron will just hit cutters for layups and wide open perimeter players for 3's all day long and Kobe will be like ":win: I stopped his ass"

If Kobe is guarding Melo, he'll still try to overplay him and outmuscle him but Melo will just be like :rudy: and rain 18 foot jumpers on his head and Kobe will be like :sadcam:
You expressed my thoughts better than I could have :wow:
