Kobe's actually right. The Coli's hate for him overrides all logic though.

Literally every financial book/website/article highly discourages rich people giving away money.

They become dependent on you and expect for you to give to them and no matter what you give, it's never enough because you're Lebron James and you're worth $500 million but, only giving them $1 million.

Literally EVERYONE discourages it.

If you know more than 99% of all financial advisers, than hey :manny:
:camby: giving disposable funds to friends and family is not designed to be a money making venture.

If someone becomes dependent on you for money, the issue is deeper than just money. Tons of athletes have bought nicer houses for their parents and still have a good relationship.

Kobe's still a c00n though because he doesn't practice that "independence/self reliance" shyt with his Mexican family.

But then again, I'm not in his shoes. For all we know, his black family could have been spending his money crazy and acting entitled to his riches while Vanessa's folks could have been more humble and appreciative of anything he did. We don't know why he has that attitude but, it does look funny. The optics look c00nish. If it was me, nobody would be getting shyt :dame: I'd hit everybody off once and that's it. Only moms would get money consistently. Everybody else is grown and can fukk off.

Tons of athletes are broke too.

You sound dumb and naive. If you won the lottery, you would change your tune real quick. Hopefully.

I'm not advocating spending and trying to buy everyone out of the hood. I'm saying that giving to your parents or friends doesn't sour things unless the relationship is shallow or one sided to begin with. If you give people something and they just want more, that means they don't respect you.

To suggest that his relationship is strained because he gave them too much and they're just spoiled now? It has to be a lot more than that.

This was cold.

He has a point. But there is a balance.

He did not lump his parents in with his friends and siblings...but still he did not have to air out the fam like that.

Obviously this is what hurts him most. If so, he needs to drop the pride and reconcile before life passes everyone by.

Education and lump sums for the siblings.

Annuities for the parents.

Keep the money tied up and hard to access.

We don't know homie. Neither of us know the inner workings of their relationship. I just think its shortsighted to dump on Kobe. I doubt his family was completely innocent.

And breh....you're being naive about the bolded.

Let's say you win $100 million from the lottery. You give your family members $1 million each. a few years go by, and a couple of your siblings go broke. They come back to you begging to help them out, that they'll do better this time. You got $100 million....it would not hurt you even a little bit to put another $1 million in their hands. Even your mom and dad are like cmon Bilz, stop acting greedy, that's family.....you give it....it's only a matter of time before somebody else is broke again and they gonna be like "well you helped the other sister, why can't you help me?".....than if you decide to help nobody ever again like Kobe....you're stingy, greedy, brand new, think you're too good now....because they'll be struggling again and will think about how you have $100,000,000 in your account and could've easily helped them without breaking a sweat. And they'll start hating you.

That's how it happens nikka.

It has happened to nearly every lottery winner, athlete and entertainer.

That's why lawyers and advisers HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ever giving out large sums of money. It never works out.

It is probably by design that we hear next to nothing from his family. It would make sense that any funding he provides is contingent on them not talking about him in public.

And I'm not dumping on Kobe. I am saying their relationship is strained for other reasons. These are the same parents who refused to attend his wedding. If they just saw him as an ATM, maybe that's all he was to them.

Well not going to their son's wedding certainly doesn't do them any favors in terms of getting my sympathy
