If Kobe is smart he will take around 15 shots a game and score efficiently. He can split ball handling duties with Nash and rely on Bynum and Gasol more during the reg. season. He can use the additional energy he'll have, due to taking less shots, to play more consistent defense and rebound more.

Down the stretch of the season and into the playoffs he could ramp up his shot attempts to maybe 20ish per game or so at most. However, these should all be good shots rather than shooting fades over three defenders.

Kobe's usage should drop dramatically this year as well. He should move without the ball and look to run for easier baskets which is what they do in Mia.

Playing like this Kobe should average in the range of 22 ppg on like 50% fg% with increased rebounds and assists and steals.

However, we all know only 22ppg is unacceptable in Kobe's mind. I am expecting a lot of drama in LA.

If you're not the best player on the team, then it's not your team. This is why I laughed at all the "The Heat is still Wade's team" talk when Lebron got there. Wade didnt step aside, he got out of the way. Kobe may be forced to do the same if the Lakers are to get back on top. If anything, these comments should actually encourage Lakers haters. If they play through Nash and their size inside like they're supposed to then its going to be hard for any team to beat them. If its indeed Kobe's team and they play through him like he's the man, then they will be vulnerable.

Why are people comparing these situations? Wade deferred (mostly the 2nd year) to LEBRON JAMES. the eventual 3-time MVP and probably the best player in the L today (yes I'm a Bron-hater and Kobe-stan, but it is what it is). Dwight ain't nowhere near his level.

Dwight Howard is a demonstrably better player than Kobe Bryant.

We care about the storylines and stuff, and it may be Kobe's team emotionally, but between the lines, Howard is that team's best player.
