If you're referring to Bron not being considered better than Kobe, you might have a point because despite a long, illustrious career -- at the time he retired, dude spent more of his life being a NBA player than he had being alive -- he died young.
That tends to immortalize people of note and have their legacy overblown/valued more than it normally would be, even though anything said about Kobe's legacy would be unequivocally true.
