Crazy that it’s about to be four years since. I’m still not used to this. I can’t fathom how his closest loved ones feel.
I scared myself a little while back. I was in Alaska about to take a helicopter ride over the glaciers. Realized that I was rocking a Kobe sweater and got a little shook thinking about it all.

Normally I’d say take a chance cuz that sounds like an amazing time but I completely understand. To this day I’m still annoyed that we didn’t get to see what else Kobe could’ve done. He was on such an interesting path and for someone like me that’s into books and writing and film his path was right up my alley.

Smfh, this ain’t never gon feel right.

I definitely still took the helicopter right. Was ready to freak out a little when we hit some turbulence but it was an amazing experience. You write?

I can imagine. That view had to be amazing.

Yeah, I’ve been writing since high school. In college, I was published in the literary magazine of my school. My perfectionism prevented me from being published but I’m on the road to completion. Seeing Kobe with books of his own (and his attention to little things like the texture of the book itself) shows how much of an artist he was.

That’s part of why I prefer forums over the more popular social media options. I can actually use my writing in full instead of reducing myself to a fukkin caption.

That was how I got on message boards. Back when I used to have creativity and loved to write. Then going through business school sapped all that shyt out of me as I was knocked on writing assignments for showing too much creativity and how I need to be more straight forward. Once I got a regular job and didn't have hours a day to just be creative like in college I was done for. That's dope that you kept it up. Go full speed ahead with it. Even if it's bad you'll at least get a proper critique and know what to improve on.
