Man jordan let it all out. I love the way heth describe the little and big brother dynamic they had.

Yep, I loved how he put it that way.

You can just picture Kobe in MJ's closet stealing his moves.

Some players go in they bag, Kobe had the audacity to raid MJ's closet.

And then call 'em up like how this fadeaway look on me?

:wow:

This all would have made for a classic HOF speech, it sucks so bad Kobe isn't here to laugh at how MJ describes their relationship.

Seeing Jordan cry like that fukked me up :mjcry:

At this point he has now become the de facto “leader” that players and fans are looking to. After he was done playing i think he was truly done being the “hero” because he gave everyone what they wanted.

Everyone ate off of MJ from the team/owner, fans betting on games, fans who wanted a winner to root for, the league, Nike and TV networks.

But as time went on he was this person who everyone would love eternally but wanted to be solely about his business. At a time like this it’s obvious that everyone still “needs” him and we don’t know when that feeling will end. We look to him naturally because he never let anyone down. Never defeated in the finals and walked off with the bag and generations of fans who still idolize him.

Kobe took the torch on the court and now that he’s gone that torch as a retired player is vacant. What other ex player can realistically take it and the responsibility? Most of the name brand guys are doing TV gigs because it at least keeps them close to the game. Maybe Shaq can be that person since he doesn’t need the TV stuff but the things that has happened to him these last few months will either push him into a shell or he will step up. But no one knows.

Seeing MJ today didn’t magically make shyt better but he came down from his castle to public acknowledge someone who was a peer, had the same fire that he had but also to let us know that he’s hurt too and it’s the same hurt. Even someone on his level can get hurt just like us.

YEA THEN IT SHOULDA BEEN LONGER IMO

BUT I GUESS WELL NEVER BE SATISFIED

I agree. Clippers playing tonight most likely made them have to cut it short. It started late as well because people were late flying in. I think we’ll see Magic or Phil do the HOF speech. Would’ve been nice to hear from his dad but we don’t whether certain people were barred from speaking or if they declined

mj speech is historic, you've never really heard MJ give people props to anyone
And just shows you how its so much we don't see behind the cameras....

You'd think all these years they rarely connected and we hear from MJ himself they was close as hell....its surreal hearing MJ talking about kobe like this honestly.

Don't know if MJ gives another speech like that for another human (beside his parents). His and Kobes connection was way beyond basketball and this eulogy will go down in the history books.

It will. Amazing speech. When he said Kobe used to call him at 3am I can see that shyt too lol. Had me dying when he said nikkas better not turn him into a meme. Then I was back to being :mjcry: when he said a piece of him died and his little brother was gone. Just seeing him tearing up like that had me hurt.
