Am I the only one that's uncomfortable with how they're not even acknowledging his parents or siblings?

I wasn't able to watch the whole thing but my wife had it on in the bedroom, and I kept asking her if they showed his parents and sisters. I had to explain to her why that was of such particular interest to me.

Had one of Kobe in his Lower Merion uniform, and some kids would stop and ask who is that?

I told them "That's Kobe Bryant, they're saying he might be the next Michael Jordan"

I didn't really like him for his first few seasons because he didn't want to play for my beloved Hornets, but still admired him enough to get those adidas Crazy 8's, the first time I spent $100 on shoes

His adulthood was basically The Truman Show for most of us basketball stans

To see it end like this, especially with his daughter who wanted to follow his footsteps, just ...

MJ, Pelinka, Vanessa all delivered amazing speeches, hard to pick the best one. I can't speak on Shaq because the fukking feed cut out at least half of it. and I'm sure he'll share more at Kobe's HOF ceremony

I hope the reason being isnt over BS and that its just they werent in the mood to do it.

I imagine whatever issues they was dealing with was still raw... Right after he passed there was an article talking about he had just started reconnecting with his pops. I'm pretty sure they had something to say at the private ceremony. Getting up in front of 25,000 people who are probably all aware that you had a strained relationship with him, probably wasn't something they was on board with. I'm thinking they probably made their peace in private.

this ceremony was for us as fans. The private one was for the family and it’s better that way.
