it's a month later and this whole thing still don't sit well with me especially after seeing this clip

like what is dude doing with a halo over his head the man was supposed to still be here with us breaking down more barriers and his daughter creating her own legacy and rising the profile of the WNBA

It's a safety precaution. They're gonna have 20K or so inside. If they had thousands outside It would be a giant mess. There's too many buildings around Staples; It's not like it was 20 years ago where there was plenty of empty spaces (parking lots). They did the same thing with MJ and Nipsey. Plus there's a game that night that the staff has to prepare for.
