Which people? I thought most said Malone was outta pocket talking about hunting little Mexican girls when referring to Kobe's wife (if it's true that he said that)? I think people went against Kobe around that time out of spite because of the situation with Shaq and mentioning his name to the cops about paying women off.
I've seen people on this board express a real hatred for Karl Malone. I even remember a Lakers fan on here saying they were cool with the Lakers losing the Finals to Detroit because that meant Malone would never get a ring.
