Btw, some of y’all are wack for bringing that whose better bullshyt in here. nikka fukk basketball my dawg is dead I don’t give a fukk about his ranking he was who he was.

I’m saying, let’s discuss his greatness without turning it into a pissing contest. Let him have his own memory and legacy. I don’t want him chasing Jordan in death. He’s gone now, let’s just appreciate what we all got to experience seeing him play.

it has to be jellybean because it started with him...and he's a former nba player

him and Kob are so different in terms of temperament & personality but Joe put Kobe in the position to succeed...he planted the seeds, laid the roots...had Kobe balling against college & nba players while still in HS. Jellybean had Kobe playing at the philly playgrounds & in the Sonny Hill league. Jellybean connected him with Mo Cheeks & John Lucas, among others.

jellybean should give the speech!
Really it's about what Kobe himself would want. We don't know how strained their relationship really was. But it seemed really bad. Now knowing how humble Kobe was with damn near anybody he met. I imagine it would take some MAJOR shyt for him to cut off his mom and dad. Kobe felt like they stabbed him the back selling his shyt. And I'm sure there's a lot more drama we don't know about. That shyt goes way deeper than basketball. I dont know. Sometimes things just go beyond repair.

I think the people who were closest to Kobe before death would have the best idea who to go with. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a few different people. I expect Jerry West to be one of them for sure.

it’s funny how money changes situations, like Lauryn once sad many moons ago.

but it wasn’t like he left his family out there struggling and penniless. But for them to try to sell his stuff is just wild no matter when it happened or the circumstances. These are irreplaceable items and now the most irreplaceable piece of it all (him) is gone forever and anyone with half a brain would say, “clearly it wasn’t worth it”

At some point you become a man and keep that respect for your father and mother but that respect for you as a man has to flow from their direction as well. When it’s all said and done, he made sure they had a nice house to live in and they aren’t struggling for anything. They can’t feel any kind of way about what he did for his wife’s mom with HIS money.

There’s no way you can repay your parents for giving you life and of you make it to super elite status like Kobe of course you won’t forget where you came from but it’s sad that at some point you stop being a person to folks and you’re just a human ATM or conduit for resources.

He reconciled with Jellybean. He never reconciled with Pam (his Mom). I'm a Laker fan forever but his lineage is just as impt as his career. There would be no Kobe Bean without Joe Jellybean. A lot of ppl don't know but his Mom's brother was super nice in ball and his cousin too. Kobe didn't just work hard to get where he was. He also hit the genetic lottery. And it helped his Dad was a former nba player. If he was your son, you'd feel diff.
