You're not saying that Kobe is more memorable than Jordan are you? I have Kobe on my Mt. Rushmore at #2 because MJ is still the GOAT.
Man it's always one :heh: this ain't thread to debate .I saw Mike and Kobe play I'm old enough to say that. I appreciate both period leave it at that.

Closing down streets around Staple???Toronto would have put that shyt on the big screen outside the arena so everyone could be included. LA aint shyt for that.

Toronto has the same trafiic problems. We still managed to fit 2 million people downtown for the Raptors parade with few problems. LA has a LAPD problem with it's racist cops. That is the real reason they don't want a huge crowd at the arena. They don't want to deal with all those people of colour in one place. Facts.

What matters is how his family wants this handled. As long as they're good, nobody should be tripping. Not the fans. Especially not what Toronto did for their NBA championship run.

C'mon mayne

I feel you breh. I was just saying, it would have been huge if they opened up the outside arena for local fans to come and watch outside. I doubt the family would reject that since Vanessa seems to be embracing all the outpouring of love and tributes. And if they did do it, I think it would be a very peaceful and somber vibe. Watching on tv is cool, but I know die hard laker fans would want to be there outside the arena for the memories and to pay as much respect as they can.

I can dig it. I wish I could be back home to visit Staples. Unfortunately it's one of those things where we have to understand that it's not about us.

I'm struggling with the tragedy today, so I'm lifting my spirits by watching Kobe clips. The two dunks he threw down vs the Wolves in the '03 Playoffs still give me goosebumps. The 360 dunk in particular was always one of my favorites of his. He literally stole the ball at half court and casually exploded for a 360 slam. I've never seen a more clean, smooth 360 dunk in my life - he literally finessed his way into it.

I remember going hard at Kobe for his initial Trayvon comments. Pissed myself and a lot of dudes off. But this dude took the time out to meet with Trayvon’s family and did a complete 180 from where he started. I had so much respect for him seeing that growth, not looking to be stubbornly stuck from his initial feelings.
A lot of folks lack the ability to move from one place to another. Im glad I acknowledged it as it happened.

I remember that too and was also very disappointed in Kobe’s initial reaction especially since I thought after Colorado he’d become more in tune with race in America. But like you said, him actually making the effort to meet with Trayvon’s family and take the proper stance showed his ability to not only genuinely learn from mistakes and have the humility to do so as well. So glad he did that.

Anyone watch the Hall of Fame Finalists announcements? Man, as soon as they announced Kobe, I just started tearing up. I hadn’t shed a tear over any of this stuff since that Lakers game at Staples when they did the tribute :mjcry:

shyt wiped the smile off my face....:unimpressed:
