That’s some prick shyt Jay always does. Insecurity makes him say things like that, always needs to assert false dominance.

nikka broke that situation down and it was hilarious. “Kobe was playing like he was trying to beat that case on the court.”

I feel really bad saying this now but its the truth. I honestly didn't have a valid reason for hating Kobe except for the obvious. The "obvious" being a 80s baby and being a die hard Jordan stan.

When people would ask me about kobe. I would say "man fucc that nikka, he thinks he Jordan" because like so many Jordan stans, we wanted to protect his legacy at all costs. I damn near seen fights breaks out at barbershops and BBQ's over people trying to compare kobe, LeBron, etc to Jordan. Some dudes defend Jordan like he's their daddy....:dame:

I appreciated Kobe's game but I could never fully embrace him. From Harold Minor, JR Rider, penny, kobe, LeBron, they were all at one time suppose to be the "New Jordan".. Hell I remember articles coming out with people comparing Victor Olindipo's game to Jordan.

I remember watching a kobe interview and he even had Jordan's mannerisms and I was just like wow!,

I saw him(kobe) for the first time which ended up being the last time he played at Dallas. I was yelling so loud that my throat hurt the next day because I was rooting so hard for him and I finally appreciated what he brought to the game, and I knew I was looking at one of the real GOAT's.....

The one thing that bothers me is other pilots coming out and saying well if it was me in that situation bla bla

Would have prob been the same ending . I remember when my nephew had a seizure my mom is a nurse and works in paeds and deals with situations like that all the time but she froze up and had no idea what to do.

even when trained isn’t always a guarantee for success

all these pilots are really just clout chasing smh

how often do helicopter pilots get to talk to the media, and look human nature, they cant help themselves to jump in and give opinions

Respect the dead (including the pilot)!

And you already know me from the SOHH days. I used to go hard on Kobe. And I don't regret any of it. Cause it's a testament to how great he was. Growing up in LA around die hard Laker fans. Being a heat fan. Kobe was the most pivotal sports figure of my life. I really feel like I grew up with him. And I've said this before but the reason I hated Kobe so much was because he was the reason I stopped being a Laker fan. Eddie Jones was my favorite player. Nick van exel too. That Laker team was everything to me as a young kid. And when that team got broken up I felt like Kobe was the mastermind behind it :mjlol:....I was just a young dumb kid who didn't know any better:pachaha:.....either way I don't regret it. Hating on the Lakers brought me so much joy and pain over the years. No athlete that ever lived evoked the amount of emotion in me that this muthafukker did. Good and bad. Kobe just played such a huge part in my life. So last Sunday really felt like a piece of my childhood died.

Like I said in the Appreciation thread, I had mad reasons for hating Kobe, the biggest reason why is how Cocky he was.... On top of him getting at a Prime Brandy, I remember he was on Rap City in 96 talking about skipping College cause he didnt want to "play against future Drs and Scientists" and I as a Young Fan who copped SLAM Mags monthly and was into CBB and saw the C Webbs, Duke Kids and LJs hit Pro and Kill it I was like:usure::scust::mjtf:"You better get in line wit EJ(who was also my Fave Laker along wit NVE) And Shaq cuz they got this shyt".... The Laker Hate came in when they traded them and when they got Hot in 2000 and the Low Key Fans as well as some Wagoners from during the Del Harris/Coach Magic era started to pop up heavy Reppin It was on... I repped for The Blazers in 00,Kings in 02 and even hit the :umad: when they Cried off the Staples in 03 ... But he did slightly grow on me when he went Psycho Bean post Shaq/Phil...at the end of the Day tho, this Death does hit hard and continues to hit cause I could never at least take in how Great he wanted to be as someone who Skipped College and still went Hard even after those Airballs vs Jazz to be a damn Icon

Listening to this interview he did with Kendrick. And he said “Fast forward 20 years. If basketball is the greatest thing I’ve done with my life then I’ve failed”....that shyt fukked me up but at the same time it hit so deep. Type of shyt that penetrates the soul. He also said “it’s always easier to go with what is”.....basically saying it’s always easier to go with what you know instead of challenging yourself to build something new. There’s so much content out there of Kobe just dropping jewels. I’m actually excited to go through it all. I feel like it’s helping me a lot.

yeah that hit me too.

the thing is basketball isn't the best thing he did in his life.

he made an impact on people that theres thousands of basketball players who never did and an impact upon people who barely even watch basketball if not at all. so he didn't fail. but yeah shyt is crazy and he was already on track to fulfill what he was preaching anyway within a few years.

also no offense to kendrick, he actually one of my favorite rappers of all time, but he doesn't really have a lot to offer up next to kobe. part of it is age, but still.
