What was so special about Kobe was that his unwavering commitment to success was so applicable to life in general.
Whether it's sports, law, medicine or business - the concept of honing one's craft to the point of obsession is one Kobe epitomized.
It was a quality that earned him the admiration of people from all walks of life, from the everyday man to the extremely accomplished.
I literally know people who haven't left my childhood block to white-collar executives who held Kobe in mythical esteem... while he was alive.
To me, he was and IS really a contemporary role-model for me to push it to the limit.
Rest in peace.

What a life this man lived. Kobe was a global icon. People will be mourning from Beijing to Kiev to Paris to Johannesburg to Sao Paulo to Compton.
