both were well known members of this club
And Bron has the most all-times playoff misses and is 2nd all time in regular season misses. Bron is also like 35% all time when not getting a basket 5 ft away from the rim…he also has the most turnovers all time by a large margin. See how easy it is to discredit a player when cherry picking information to strengthen a particular narrative rooted in bias…

Drops some stats that aren’t favorable and then them LeBron Stan’s disappear. They rely heavily on numbers to strengthen their arguments then go silent when those same numbers get used against them…
Plus Fg% is such a baseless thing to judge players on. All these guys play in different systems and have different strengths and weaknesses and skill sets.

It’s like, yea, Bron has a higher fg% than Kobe but 75% of Brons points comes from
0-3 feet from the rim, he’s less efficient than Kobe anywhere else on the floor.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Old heads can you explain this to us looking at both these guys careers they are frequently known to be scorers and shooters but yet they were highly inefficient looking over the span of their careers i was shocked that kobe never shoot over 47percent from the field and AI never came close to that in a full season. In comparison guys like jordan, wade and curry have shot over 50 percent several times in their careers for the entire season.

They took a lot of difficult low percentage shots. It’s as simple as that.

Analytics didn’t exist. They didn’t have to worry about padding their field goal percentage. All they cared about was winning.

Haven't read through the thread so sorry if its already been brought up:

No one really cared about efficiency or stuffing the stat box until the modern era. Up to the late 2000s that shyt was basically a non factor when it came to basketball discourse. Its not til we get advanced stats and the like that everyone suddenly cared about efficiency.

Kobe's efficiency was average during his era, using fg% only in 2024 is stupid.
