It's the right decision, Raheem gave Kirk multiple chances and he was completely awful. Dude couldn't even show out against his old team, no pride whatsoever. Then Raheem probably thought he could get right against the awful Raiders, and he couldn't even do that, even in a win.

At least Penix got weapons like London, Pitts and Bijan to work with.

It's funny it took the Vikings 6 years to realize Kirk Cousins isn't the answer. Meanwhile it only took the Falcons only 14 games. On the flip side though Penix Jr must be lighting it up in practice because to me it looks like they're setting him up for failure. I think you should just let Cousins start the rest of the way let the chips fall whether they make the playoffs or not and then next year have a quarterback competition. Give Penix a training camp with the ones

You could make the valid case that they are. It’s a tall task asking a rookie QB to come in while going for a playoff spot.

I guess my question for them is what’s the plan in the offseason unless they’re just going to cut him and eat the cap hit.

Falcons were openly committed to having Penix sit and watch this season.

I would understand if the Falcons were playing out the string and wanted to give Penix a taste going into 2025.

But they are 7-7 in the thick of the division race with a manageable last three games. You aren’t doing Penix any favors trying to learn how to play the position at the NFL level at this point in time. I would think the veterans on the team would prefer riding it out with Cousins with a chance at the postseason than an unknown.

kirk is clearly still recovering from his injury, since week 1 hes been moving gingerly and has minimal strength in his legs . They must think he has no chance of improving in this last stretch.

Nowhere in my comment did I say that I disagreed with the decision. What I said was that it's a tall task asking a rookie to come in on short notice even with Cousins performance these past few games especially considering moving on from him in the offseason won't be easy.
