Why would Cousins ever take that deal? The franchise tag was created to fukk over star players from being able to fully cash in, BUT modern day qbs are able to pimp that system with far less risk than any other position. Stafford ,for example. If he doesn't sign, the Lions will be forced to franchise him. Again, and again, so he has to he compensated to forgot that option.

Naw that offer was low ball as hell. He is already getting the 24 mill on the franchise tag REGARDLESS so the 53 mill they offered really was only a one year deal. If he doesn't sign which I would have done if they tag him next year it would be 34 mill for a season.

So he has all the leverage pay me long term like Luck/Carr or tag me and pay me 80mill on three franchise tags for the last three years :francis: Or let me walk and I go to the 49ers and they will pay me 70 mill. Boy played his hand smart as hell
True, but with that being said. If I'm the synder/allen. I will straight up trade Kirk NOW...

They can't negotiate anymore, 2017 is done. Again, the people who have watched this team under kirk knows how important Garcon & ESPECIALLY Jackson was. Sometimes kirk couldn't even hit him wide open. We caught a lot of breaks last season and it still wasn't enough.

If he plays out the season and the teams takes a huge step back, then his value goes down and he walks for nothing(which is what he really wants). OR he does great and he still walks for nothing.

The first four games are Eagles, Rams, chiefs, and Raiders. The redskins fan base is fickle as hell and if you recall, after two games last season people were calling for Gruden's job. A slow start this year will be really bad for this clueless organization.

I don't know, it just seems to me Synder/Allen and even Mcloughan went on record saying Kirk can be Good IF.....................................EVERYTHING around him is GREAT.... Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement from one of the best talent evaluators in the last 20 years. It comes down to Kirk not feeling the "love" and his feelings are hurt. Which is why he was screaming last year "how ya like me now".

I WONT rant. But Kirk was on the local radio the other day saying "God" will guide him in his decision. I don't buy that whole Christian good boy act from him. Did God tell him to scream at a reporter all aggressively and shyt saying "you like that" when the reporter was just calling out his horrible play. Or screaming at the GM, OR screaming at an old referee in a charity game and pushing him hard. Fukk Kirk.:camby:

This is why I said they should have given him a long term contract two years ago. With the way the cap keeps going up the deal would have looked like a bargain. If I'm Kirk Cousins I know for better or worse that I AM THE MARKET.

Dallas can easily win this year by running the ball, managing the clock and playing solid defense. You lost all your entire secondary though, right? What's the Cowboys' plan for winning the division?

None of those players we lost in our secondary were worth keeping. It wasn't like any of them were pro bowlers. We were planning on drafting a better secondary anyway. Not one cowboys fan shed a tear for any of those nikkaz

Kirk is doing what every NFL player that can do should do. You can not like his play but in that no guarantee world, when you get leverage, take it.

This.

Duke a bonafide bum but in this day and age of rewarding white mediocrity at QB.
He is beating them at their own game.
If Washington was smart they would find a cheap alternative.
It is an old hopeful who never made it who could do what cousins does.

Duke is that mark wahlberg is a Philly eagle strike era player movie come to life but with college accolades.

$53M guaranteed plus $72 for injury is ALOT of fukking money....:whew:
I'm sure there are some but i cant remember any deal that guaranteed more for an injury.

I woulda signed that deal immediately and celebrated every TD like Gus Frerrotte.

I hate the Skins, but Im honestly happy he is doing what he is doing.. he has been taking all guaranteed money knowing he will continue to get more guaranteed money. His agent is top notch. Chess not checkers on these owners.
