So had a week or so to really reflect on how i feel about this game. The first 25 hours is very VERY average and the last 5 hours is the best video game i ever played in my life. Im so conflicted with this game lol.

Did the people who have been anticipating this game for years get what they wanted out of it?

Yes and No. We got the scenes we wanted but the build up to it doesn't feel earned

Like take Aqua for example. The scene where she's finally saved and she starts crying on destiny island cause u realizes she is back in the realm of light. That scene was absolutely perfect and everything i wanted it to be. However the build up to it was what? 10 mins max? They have been teasing us saving Aqua who has been in Hell for over 10 years since the secret ending of BBS. You would think it would take a little more then one cutscene and a fight to actually Save Aqua. Like that whole event could of been the entire middle section of the game and it would of helped with the pacing of this game drastically.

Another example was the twilight reunion. Again the actual scene where all of them are finally together again and they can't even get a word out and just start crying. It was amazing. But the build up to it. Like wtf? Roxas just hops out of sora because he felt Lea and Xion were in trouble?? So why the hell did he not pop out when Sora fell to darkness in DDD?(I understand he still needed a replica but even that doesn't make sense as the actual replica wasn't in the same place where Roxas appeared. So now lifeless replicas can instantly appear to wherever a calling heart is at? Ok..........

Then u just have scenes we been waiting for that never happened. Like Riku/Terra doesn't have one scene together. Even though in the very same game they show that Riku DOES remember the convo he had with Terra in BBS.

Ven/Roxas doesn't have ANY dialogue at all together. Just a glance. Like seriously? SERIOUSLY?

I will say the Vanitas/Sora convo was great. The Riku/Ansem finale was amazing. Lea/Saix finale was amazing. Namine's scene was amazing even though it's skippable. Riku Replica final scene was amazing(Probably the most well written character of the entire franchise at this point)

Eraqus scene felt very tacky and rushed. MX true intentions felt horrible. Like why is it so hard for a villain to just be a villain now and days? Everyone wants to be the sympathetic thanos villain now. None of what Master Xehanort said matches his actions from BBS. Kairi..... Jesus christ Kairi.. I never actually "Hated" Kairi unlike other people until this game. Now i hate her. Jesus she's such a horrible character lol.

The ending scene with everyone on destiny islands was amazing until sora just vanishes.

There's alot of good and alot of bad sprinkled through this game.

10 hours in and I got a lot to say but I think I'll hold off till I finish it

No I won't. This is a decent at best video game (7/10?) so far and not much more. The story is just boring. Xehanort is not a compelling villain and the cutscenes are garbage. They're very quiet for no reason and it's mostly the characters standing around just spouting exposition with weird pauses after everyone has had their turn to speak.

I like exploring the Disney worlds, I like how it feels to control Sora and the presentation & music is amazing. The saving graces of an otherwise dull game.

Finished the game. @Phillyrider807, if you can still defend this shytshow story after

Xehanort is convinced to surrender in 2 minutes flat and receives the Anakin Skywalker treatment

Then I'ma block you bro.

I already said Xehanort's motivation doesn't add up to anything he did in BBS lol.

That's the way I did it. I deliberately took five days to beat the game, when most people beat it in two-to-three days. I think that's why some people feel somewhat negative about the pacing. For me, I didn't feel it was so bad, because I was too busy being immersed in the Disney worlds.
i beat the game in 2. didnt rush or anything

but the game will most likely feel rushed because there's an event in the game towards the end that feels rushed no matter what time u finish it

Agreed

Tempted to find all treasure and lucky emblems but kinda lazy and have a backlog lol
treasure takes some time b/c of Pirates and Big Hero 6 worlds

Lucky Emblems doesnt take very long, even if you have just 13/90 by the time u finish the story

And the item u get for finding all 90 Emblems is really good.

Only issue is, there's no one to really try it on except the final boss and random heartless/nobodies (We need that DLC :mjcry:)
