So I just found out some retailers are changing the release date to the 26th now. So far It’s European stores. Let’s see if us does the same.

How accessible is KH to people who don’t play JRPGS?
For comparison sake if it helps you make a decision, the game play is similar in some ways to Ni No Kuni 2. KH is much slower paced though.
It's an RPG, but the battles control similar to an action game. There aren't a wide range of moves though like say, Devil May Cry, or something like that.
It's definitely an action RPG that focuses more on the RPG side of things.

I never did understand how people consider this story confusing

But I'm a Tenchi Muyo fan so confusing plots is not new to me
:stopitslime:Breh, the story is Kojima tier convoluted.
The overarching point is simple enough to follow, sure, but the idea of several different versions: good, indifferent, and evil, as well as past, present, and future versions of the same characters is a mess. Every character has a light side, a dark side, a true form, a direct nemesis, an indirect enemy, etc, etc.
I got through an entire summary of the story on YouTube last night and although I ultimately understood everything, I just feel like the details behind everything are more confusing than they needed to be. I'm definitely glad I watched it though, I was surprised at how much I actually remembered and glad that I was able to get some back story on the events that happened in the spin off games, which I honestly never had any interest in playing.

So I'm good if a watch a video summary?

What video u watched?

Yes, the story is confusing because each character has like 4 different forms of themselves fighting each other.

Yeah, I watched a video summary (it was about 30 minutes) and I'm 100% up to speed and know everything I need to know to go into the 3rd one without feeling left out at all.
I did play the first 2 games though so I understand a large part of the story already so that definitely helps.
Things get goofy as hell when it comes to the alternate forms of each person coming from different timelines and all that, but the videos help clear that up.
The basic plot is simple enough to follow though (and is VERY similar to the Naruto story...which is something I never caught until recently).

This is the video I watched. It’s long, and the names get confusing but stick with it and it all makes perfect sense. The story is definitely more confusing than it needs to be especially for such a relatively simple game.

fukk!

It comes out soon and I can't play the others.
Just watch the videos breh.
To ME....these games ain't THAT fun to begin with.
I have no interested in trucking through all of those spin offs.
I mean, the games are cool.....but not enough for me to push through the monotony of some of the sections.

For anyone still confused, Basically

-Sora needs to stop Master Xehanort (MX) (old man, main villain from Birth by Sleep) from creating Kingdom Hearts
-MX needs 13 dark vessels to create Kingdom Hearts. These are human bodies that he will pour his "essence" (bits of his own heart) into, essentially taking their body over. This is exactly what he did to Terra in Birth By Sleep
-At the end of Dream Drop Distance, Sora is actually weaker than he used to be because he was taken over by the Darkness. He failed his Mark of Mastery exam because he fell to darkness. So he has to regain his powers and the main power of Unlocking Sleeping Hearts (we will most likely hear more about it as we play Kh3) (Similar to how Korra was trash in the final season of The Legend of Korra lol)

There are 3 Keyblade wielders from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep that you need to know

-Aqua: Riku and King Mickey are working together to get Aqua out of the Realm of Darkness (another dimension that she is currently lost in. She can't escape by herself and will need a lot of help). Aqua will help Sora and his friends stop Xehanort.
-Ventus is a lifeless shell because of his fight with Vanitas (the evil part of Ventus. This was Ven's final boss battle in Birth by Sleep). He is basically a SLEEPING HEART. But before Birth by Sleep started, Ventus placed part of his heart inside Sora when Sora was extremely young (this is at the very start of Birth By Sleep, and I think it's why Roxas looks exactly like Ventus). So I imagine Sora will need the power of Waking Sleeping Hearts to wake up Ventus. Ventus will also be helping in taking down Master Xehanort
-Terra's body was taken over by Master Xehanort in Birth By Sleep BUT his Will (The lingering Will from KH2FM) still remains. So I imagine the Lingering Will will try to take his body back and become complete (very similar to the end of terra's story in Birth By Sleep). There was a scene in a trailer that looked like Terra and the Lingering Will were going to fight again

Other Stuff
-Axel died in KH2, and when a Nobody dies and the heartless counterpart dies, the Original human is resurrected. So Lea from Birth By Sleep (Axel's original human form) is back as a grown man. He is a Keyblade Wielder now. He's helping to stop MX
-Kairi is also a keyblade wielder now. She touched Aqua's keyblade when she was super young and was "bequeathed" because of it (this happened in Birth by Sleep)
-The 13 Dark Vessels that MX is using are many of the Organization 13 people that we beat between Chain of Memories and KH2

That's all i got. The plot is ridiculous and a lot to remember. Hope it helps

Funny how KH2 doesn't really matter in terms of plot anymore. If you never played KH2, you could still understand the plot a good amount.

The "side games" are actually more important than KH2

EDIT: I actually dont think MX needs the vessels to create kingdom hearts or if he needs them to recreate the keyblade war. Either way, it leads to the creation of Kingdom Hearts

That's what I mean, 1 and 2 were playable and easy to play because it was all on the same system.

The other ones you had to get different systems for them.

Then they released the games together, but who tryna play that shyt now?

nikka I want to play 3, I fukkin waited 10+ years to play this shyt.

...and that's the biggest problem with this series and square is a bunch of morons for that.
At the end of the day, those video summaries are incredibly helpful and made it so that I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the story in KH3.
I'm actually grateful the game took this long to come out now.
If it wasn't for youtube, I would be completely lost and would not be able to enjoy KH3 at all.
